SUCKED IN by Cheap Chinese Crap!

Maybe, look for Russian stuff :wink . We all buy what we can afford. If I made more, I might not be so frugal. Most of the food I'm forced to eat has a Chinese or foreign counterpart. Kroger used to state it on the label but doesn't anymore. I've been pretty happy with most of my Harbor Freight stuff. My hand tools are Craftsman though. Locally, my neighboring city fought the construction of a Walmart tooth and nail. The unspoken reason was racially motivated and they didn't want undesirables like me either. They lost the battle and us poor people won.

Harbor Freight "is what it is". I've bought "tools" there that I rarely use and they meet my needs for the cost. What I won't buy there is something I use frequently (like a rechargeable drill e.g.) since I'll trash it and have to buy another. I also won't go for precision tools there (like a torque wrench) as I just don't trust their "accuracy". I've also had "tools" there that broke after the first use. Like I said: it is, what it is. If you go in knowing this you shouldn't complain when a $15 "Chicago Electric" rechargeable drill dies after six months.

I try real hard to stay out of these kinds of online discussions, but I have to say I did take offense to the comments about unions driving the costs of everthing up. Unions make up only 17% of the labor force in this country. Please look else where to place the blame. It is not hard to find. My union brothers and sisters are family to me.

My dad and both of my neighbors and good friend are are current and retired union people. I will clarify that not all union people are bad. The leadership, I have real issues with. When my dad makes $30 dollars an hour and a comparable non-union job pays $12, where does the extra cost go? I have no gripes against people making good money but when their wages and benefits dramatically exceed the prevailing wage for no other reason other than companies fear strikes and bad PR, what really is their purpose other that be a mob? I would like to see less of a gap between union and non-union jobs. And companies should have rights to hire who they want. More equality and fairness, and less complaining. I can back up everything I say with proof in print and from life's experiences. I'd love to say more but I'm typing this from my phone and enough has been said. I apologize to anyone who is offended by my observations.
