Three cheers for Jim / Wild Blue. :thup :thup :thup

I can't wait for the election to be over. I'm getting a little tired of being told lies , half-truths, trying to change my support for a "disaster candidate". Listening to both sides use of mis-quotes and character assasinations. Never about the issues.

Most of the time, this site was an oasis from this election crap. Now I'm being compared to a guy with his head up his a-- or in the sand because I may not agree with someone's point of view!

I thought that this site was politics / religion free?
I thought everyone would have taken Charlie's / Captains Choice suggestion and play nice ( meaning don't go there) but some people have to have their superior view stated one last time.

I tried not to reply but I couldn't.

ps- I'm one of those "independent voters" that both sides are jumping thru hoops just to get me to vote for them. I'm getting pissed off and maybe I just decided to cancel someone's vote and vote AGAINST their candidate - not for!

I've said all I'm going to say. :amgry

Let's see some more dog or hot chic's pics

good morning allen,
i believe this group of c-brats are high spirited and good meaning guys. please disregard any suggestion of criticism. we all have a humorous side, sometimes it appears different than intended.
i agree that this site is devoted to boating, however it's difficult not to inject current events.
i'm traditionally a republican, but they haven't help me recently, so maybe the new guy needs a chance to preform. not sure which side will garner my two cents.
have a great day.
best regards
pat

For the most part, yes - but the That's Life forum is a special case, any topic is fair game as long as the "Just Be Nice" rule is observed. When posts get offensive or too over the top, the thread may get nuked. The deal is, if you don't want to be exposed to the content of That's Life, you can choose not to read it!

On edit: However, I notice that THIS forum is General Chat, not That's Life, so I would agree the topic was inappropriately posted in this forum.

I received this in and e-mail

A freshman at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair on January 26.

In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical 'dihydrogen monoxide.' And for plenty of good reasons, since it can:

1. cause excessive sweating and vomiting
2. is a major component in acid rain
3. cause severe burns in its gaseous state
4. accidental inhalation can kill you
5. contribute to erosion
6. decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes
7. be found in tumors of ter minal cancer patients

He asked 150 people if they supported a ban of the chemical.

One hundred forty-three said: YES
Six were undecided
Only one knew that the chemical was...

WATER!

The title of his prize winning project was, 'How Gullible Are We?'

He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to the alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment.

What's really frightening is that these same people help elect our Presidents!

Pat,
I hate cats and dogs so I have no pictures to post. Sometimes I read posts and don't comment; thats always an option for others. Calling other posts drivel from the the dictionary's definition calls it "to talk stupidly and our carelessly" does not seem to fit the be nice definition either. I hope all this doesn't get blown out of proportion. I thought this thread was all very funny till some started taking the heat. You folks are starting to scare this lurker and wanta be, donator to this site. In the immortal words of Rodney King "can't we all just get along?" I voted for Hillary!

Thanks for pointing out that out, Charlie...

As everyone on both sides of the debate can agree, there's an obvious inconsistency in hating dogs, but voting for Hillary.

Now, enough of this, C-Brat children. Put away your angry fingers until you can type up something nice or funny.

If these two can get along, so can we.

And that, sir, is priceless wisdom, shown better than spoken.

Perhaps, but that pic is open to interpretation...

Omega has a curious expression on her face. An optimist might suggest, she's relaxed but alert, ready to take appropriate action should her sleeping feline buddy not notice some incoming threat.

The pessimist might suggest, that she's merely contemplating which object beside her to chew.

And those quite familiar with cats, might suggest that if Omega picks the wrong object, whe may well draw back a "nub" for a nose!

Nice picture!

da nag's picture is reminiscent of our political situation. looks like obama, the dog, eyes wide open, thinking about his next move, and mccain, the cat, taking his daily nap.
my vote decision will be based upon which candidate's advertisement i see last. once viewed, i will then vote for the other guy!

A professor testified at a Congressional hearing, that's all.

1. And why would said professor be testitying at a Congressional hearing?
2. "Bahgdad Jim" McDermott is THE MOST left wing, socialist member of congress. I can see him salivating about this "plan" now.
3. I hope you're right, but I am cynical (I prefer realist  ) when it comes to Obama's socialist/marxist beliefs.
4. Like Jim, I got my absentee ballot and looked and looked for "none of the above". Alas, it wasn't there...

Marvin, there are two frightening perspectives in that. One that people are easily duped, and two that there are folks who perpetrate these kinds of this for their own agenda and gain.

Localboymark, you were kidding about numbers 2 and 3, right? :male

Not a joke in the least. McDermott's record speaks for itself. Obama's book documents his Marxist beliefs. He sought out Marxists while at Columbia and said in his book he agreed w/ their political ideals. Unlike some politicians, I don't make this stuff up.

Did you actually read Obama's book or are you just re-quoting what you heard from people like Rush Limbaugh? Having read Obama's book, I would not state that his book "documents his Marxist beliefs".
