Steering *AND* Throttle Control for Kicker

Does anyone know of a product that will let you control both the steering and throttle of your kicker from somewhere besides the motor itself? Preferably wireless, so that you can control it from either the cabin or the cockpit, but I'd even settle for a remote control unit with a tether, so that I can at least stand up in the cockpit and have some mobility while controlling speed and steering.

I know such a thing exists -- some friends that owned a "B__liner" had one on their Mercury kicker. (Would have been great if they could ever get the motor started!) But I haven't been able to find out what brand it was or where to get such a thing.

The Trollmaster seems to be throttle control only, and the TR1 autopilot is overkill, although I may go that way if necessary.

Any clues?

Thanks,

I feel comfortable saying that the TR-1 is the only kicker autopilot out there with throttle control. I haven't found anything else. I just wish they could find a way to reduce the price.

We have the stainless quick disconnect rod to slave our kicker to the main for steering...Cabela's has 'em for around 20 bucks if I remember right. We also have the Trollmaster Pro Max...LOVE it! Great unit.

On the Arima we had the quik disconnect to slave the kicker with the main. We also had the engine controls for the kicker mounted below the main engine controls.
I run twins on the CD22, so I don't need a kicker.

Go with the TR-1 and don't look back. Having been alongside a friends boat who has a TR-1 a couple of times all I can say is "I WANT ONE!". I was simply amazed. I had to saw the kicker back and forth several times to fight some currents while my friend simply had the control for the TR-1 clipped to his belt and was sitting talking with the other people on his boat. When he needed to change directions he hit a couple buttons and went back to chatting and watching where he was going.

Ponder this. If you fish in a river you can set the TR-1 to head to a waypoint directly in front of you and then set the trolling speed to hold you in place. No anchor required!
