Listed this as a grand adventure because that is what it was when I reached out to a long time C-Brat I met years ago from TN area.
Was delivering a 66' Fantasy House Boat from Pickwick to Knoxville TN on her hull for a several hundred mile delivery, up the Tennessee River....and mechanical issues happened each day.... causing several day extension of the one week trip....that turned into a 3 week trip with parts and mechanical needs.
Then came the ice delays....
Then came the need to refurbish our galley with no rental car, or courtesy car in the marina we were able to break the ice and get tied up.
Sent a text message hoping the number I had on this C-Brat was the same a few years back during our last contact....AND IT WAS!!!! We met in person over 15 years ago and we both have the same phone numbers. Awesome
A C-Brat from the area of the dock made a shopping run for us, and delivered it to us on frozen docks...and then did not want to accept payment for the goods he delivered.
I ensured him I would be hit by lightening by sunrise if I was not allowed to pay him for the provisions...and...slowly he accepted....rather than dispute in front of the rest of the crew whom he had never met.
First Class Friend... First Class C-Brat.
Thanks to all who make this site what it is.
Cheers!
