SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Took Dreamer to Port Townsend today, on the trailer. Port Townsend Honda and Marine took care of the recall on the 150s in 45 minutes. Very nice guys, so I ordered some rototiller parts and will use them again for parts and service. Port Angeles was closer but I don't have any confidence in them.

Planning a few days in the Sidney/Ganges area next week if the weather cooperates.
 
Intriguing! Where on the boat do the rototiller parts go??

Maybe he is doing the same trick as we saw with a Glacier bay (Charter) Cat in Snug Harbor just after Lopez. He came in at a -2 tide and was leaving two very brown furrows and making noises that would have had me walking.
Hope he was planting eel grass...

We got on the water at daybreak at Cathedral Park, St. Johns -- poked around a while until we found some fish, but they weren't biting...both of us lost salmon setups to the cable that crosses the Columbia at Frenchman's Bar -- anchored and Steve fished for sturgeon while I fished for shad..he caught, I didn't, but no keepers -- moved up to the mouth of the Willamette where we found a ton of boats anchored up fishing -- boat about 75 yards away kept pulling up sturgeon (they caught 2 keepers while we were there) nada for us -- went further up the Willamette and got no hits, no runs, no errors. What a great day on the water! No rain, good water, and lots of hollers to us "Nice boat!" :thup

Posting from Andrews Bay, Lake Washington. LOTS of available access points here. We launched from the City of Bellevue 40th Street Boat Ramp, got 3.5 break-in hours on the BF15 today. Up to Cozy Cove just off Yarrow Bay, anchored up for lunch, back down to Andrews Bay. Lots of other boats here, weather is great, swinging on the hook, watching people walk their dogs on the trail along the shore, thinking about Baxter (left him home with Austin). Listening to the Irish Rover CD right now, had a great dinner of Golden Curry Chicken over rice and some French wine, sun is shining, all is good!
 
Today is the first day of the Anacortes Waterfront Festival (it concludes tomorrow, Sunday). I volunteered at the Anacortes Yacht Club booth. We give people free rides on their choice of powerboat or sailboat. Had 11 boats participating and lines of people waiting for rides all day. I didn't bring the Tom Cat because Lori was not up to doing this so soon after returning from Lake Powell and SLC. So my job was to guide people from the booth to the slip where their ride awaited. Took a ride myself in a nice Albin 31 at the end of the day.

Overcast afternoon here the PNW . Went down to LaConner to gas up the boat and get ready for next weekend. Had a nice lunch in town at a local tavern.

Just had a short but nice visit here at Andrews Bay from Jan and Stacey on C-Change! They are a couple of miles up the lake at Leschi. Stacey's parents, George and Kay, were on board. We rafted up briefly, they had to scoot to beat the darkness...
 
Took the 25 from Guemes Is. across to Cap Sante Boat Haven and moored for the day while I participated at the CGAux booth for Waterfront Days in Anacortes. Didn't bump into Warren aka Lorrie Ann, but sent a lot of people to that end of the marina. Did boat safety exams all day. The CG brought one of their brand new RIB 33's into port for an hour or two. Amazing little boats. Triple Johnson 275 horse enginesthat can burn 95 gallons an hour when really doing their thing.
 
It is very calm here, we are gently swinging on the hook at Andrews Bay. Coffee water is just about to boil, Patty is still sleeping. Started reading Clyde Ford's book Red Herring in my chair in the cockpit yesterday , pretty entertaining read. David, give my regards to the net, I did not bring a 2 meter onboard this trip! We have decided Andrews Bay is a great place for a quick getaway!
 
Another nice day out in the boat. Went out at sunrise to do a bit of fishing. It was raining, but very calm. Fished just south of the Narrows Bridge. Caught a few, but missed what I was after. Blackmouth. I saw them move through, chasing the sand lances in about 10 feet of water. You have to get up really early to catch these guys on a fly. Maybe Tuesday. :smile

Took Stacy's parents for their first C-dory ride. Pat, glad you and Patty liked Andrews bay. It was nice seeing you both yesterday. Sorry we could not stay longer, but we did make it back before it got too dark.

Pat & Patty, you guys were in our neck of the woods. Caryn walks around Seward Park daily and we're always looking for C-Dory's anchored out in Andrews Bay. We did see C-Change a couple of months ago.

Let us know when you plan on going out there again. We'd love to see you.
 
Took two gals from work out on their annual CDory ride. Left Twin Bridges at 10:30 and went up around Cypress heading for Doe Island. Tried to get on the dock at Doe but the tide was at a -3.7 and the depth 100 yards out was 2'. I decided not to get any closer so went thru Obstruction Pass and to the dock at Olga. Nice walk to the cafe and lunch. Headed back to Twin Bridges by way of Lopez Pass and Deception Pass. Went thru Deception on the max flood almost 8 knots. We came back thru Swinomish Channel. The current was moving so fast that I had the boat at idle and we were doing almost 9 knots thru LaConner. Back to Twin Bridges, left in clear skies, arrived in a downpour, you got to love Washington.
 
Peter - will PM when we head that way again! A very nice spot for a quick overnighter!

left the boat at home and drove to the water front fest. If we had known others where there we would have looked for you all. We had never been on davis island so we took the ferry over and drove around the whole island. very nice place to live. It rained and blew most of the day so I am glad we where n the car,....well maybe not, hate traveling by car these days.
 
Took a friend and his 10 year old son out to chase the salmon rumor Sunday. Saw one fish go in the net for the boat in front of us and heard a couple more "radio" fish. Weather was great- low marine layer with mist, mirror like seas with 5'-7' wide spaced swells. No love lost on the salmon.
In order to keep the kid occupied, I let him have the helm (he loved it) while I made coffee and left the heater on. We had a small feathered hitch hiker for a couple hours, a small bird flew into the cabin and went into the v-berth for a nap. He came out and set on our shoulder for a while so he could look out, went out to the cockpit for a few mintues then back into the warm cabin. After a couple hours he flew away.
I took them over to an area where I've caught bass and rock fish- slow, real slow.
We caught a couple small sharks (the kid almost went over with the second shark- a 3'+ sand shark) You should have seen the smile on his face when I handed him the shark :lol: At first he didn't want to hold it, so I had him feel the skin, then he held it.
 
OH sweet retirement!

Went to marina and took Sea Angel out for a 4hr spin. There wasn't anyone tying up up the finger piers and the Lynnhaven & Broad Bays were very smooth. The Lower Ches. Bay on the the other hand was choppy and messy with the north winds abt 15-20 kts. The sky was clean and sunny. The temp abt 74 degrees with abt 50 % humidity. Boy, I would like to put this day in a bottle to save.

First mate and I enjoyed a picnic aboard as we watched the Egrets feed their young and keep lookout for us visitors. The local fishermen didn't do so well in their efforts to catch anything, dispite all the fish I could see on the Garmin fishfinder.

Back at the marina we went and there was an open set of racks to do the washdown and flushout .... no wait. On the weekends we would occassionally have a 5 min. wait which we would use to do some work at the finger pier.

Now, abt cutting the grass, tomorrow?? or after that??
 
Yes, Sweet retirement 8) . Went out at sunrise for a nice boat ride. That's what I call it when I don't catch any fish! Beautiful day. Saw this cool train come out of the tunnel just north of the Narrows Bridge. The steam was flowing. I have never seen a steam train on the main line, and it was a beauty.

Well, for the second time in two weeks we headed out of Everett to Coupeville. For the second time we didn't make it but still had a great time on the water. What stopped me this time was crossing between Hat Island and Camano. There were some pretty imposing tribal fishing boats with their marker bouys in a grand circle. I dont know if these were pots or nets. Hopefully someone can let me know and fill me in about 'protocol' for passing through. Since we had a late start we decided to explore the east side of Camano and give our kicker a workout. Beautiful day, calm protected waters, and an eagle catching fish and being harassed by smaller birds. On the way back to Everett marina we saw a beautiful (wood I think) retired Coast Guard Cutter being towed by a police boat. Apparently it had struck a submerged object further up the Snohomish River and was taking on water. Last I saw they made it to the Everett Yacht Club dock and were starting up a second pump.
