SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Jon, great to hear that everything went well, how about some pictures. I guess we will be hanging out on your boat at Jarrel Cove to watch the 10 hour break in period.

Jon, whatta ya say I bring some ducting and you can pipe some of that spare heat over to our boat at the J Cove campout?.......someday we'll have heat.

WD Jon, I'm all for load testing the yakrak at Catchalimit, wonder how many of those 50 pounders we could hang on there? That rack is going to be absolutely terrible for fishing. It is easily removed and stored however

BC, you're gonna have to talk with the heater queen on that ducting connection. Man, that heater is alot of money, but when you're warm at night, it makes it worth every penny.

Fifty pounder? Must be a pony keg, because I know they don't make fish that big in that area. :D :beer

 Iwas thinking you could probably get about 20 or 30 rod holders on that thing!!!! Just think; being able to fish for salmon, walleye, tuna, marlin, steelhead, halibut, ling cod, ALL AT THE SAME TIME .

FedEx beat the crap out of UPS this week (way to go, Jim!!). The new anchor roller and cabin fans were delivered today, and the trim tabs, ordered three days earlier, just got to Portland today. Of course, the FedEx package came from CA and was ordered 2nd Day, and the UPS was standard ground shipped from FL. It makes no nevermind, though. They got me back to overtime, so the projects have to wait.

You artistic guys will be proud of the wood trim I put around the little cubby hole I cut at the top of the closet. Too bad Martha Stewart is going to jail, I might have been able to get her to go fishing on my boat after Tim got through with her.

No shortage of jobs in progress around here. Tyboo, you are going to have to arrange to take your boat to work with you or get some time off.
Maybe you could get the Justice Dept. to have Martha S. paroled in your custody and come up with some "cheap" labor. Aw, never mind, you get what you pay for.

Jon, if you have access to a drive-in freezer why don't you check that Wallas out at about 20 below and give me a report.

Way to go on the wood trim Mike. Next thing you know you will be triming out the head in teak. BTW I installed the windlass counter. Unfortunately on the Sprint model there is very little to attach the magnet and switch too because of the lower profile of the unit. So that part isn't concealed at all. The counter howeveris a little work of art. Ran the wires and have the counter housed in a little teak mitered box that sits on the dash. Thanks again.

Have you guys heard? Martha is changing the name of her magazine to Martha Stewart Living Behind Bars :wink

Got the two flip down cabin fans hung and wired. They blow. Got the see-thru door on the closet cubby hole done. Scored some of that 3/4" thick rubber industrial floor mat with holes in it and nubs on the bottom so it will drain underneath. I cut it to fit tightly over the entire cabin floor. Now K can put her Persian rug (came with the boat) back in there.

The Lenco trim tabs came today. It looks like I got lucky for the install. The old tab hinges used six screw holes each in the hull. The new ones use seven screws, but four of the holes line up perfectly with the new tabs positioned right where they belong, and I can drill the new tab hinges to hit two more of the original holes. That will just leave me with two extra screws into the boat. Plus, the new screws are larger, so there will be no problem sealing the holes back up. Don't know yet where the upper actuator brackets will end up, but they're above the waterline so less to worry about there.

Shoot Mike it sounds like you got more projects going than I do. Thats scarry! But it does look like you're starting to get to the bottom of the list though and thats cool since sturgeon will start when the bait arrives and some of us like to keep an eye out for the TyBoo hot spot. Just got to remember to anchor next to the green boat, not the blue one. Could end up with B-C aka "blocked catching".

I may make a run to the Englund candy store this Saturday and might have to stop by to check out Martha's Big House. Hear a 22 just won't do but a 25 could help her survive. Keep trimming, she likes teak better than mahogany. Don't know what she thinks of stainless verses regular steel.

Tim, don't you worry about Martha, she'll either fashion herself a saw and break out, or they'll kick her out......personally, I think there should have left her alone and jailed about half the politicians....make that 3/4
B~C aka Big Catch :)

Yes, well, all politicians EXCEPT the ones I work for in Snoqualmie! Anyway, you know that "politics" is a Greek word. Analying the root words, it can easily be seen that "poli" means "many" and "tics" means "little blood sucking leeches"!

Mike you have been busy, Bringing shearwater back from the factory Monday then off to the Yamaha dealer to get the motor back on and have the new kicker bracket mounted. Back home after that for hydraulic steering upgrade and kicker remote control system install.
Things are looking good for catlamwhateverith get together and a chance to check out the new Tyboo.

My carpet in the Vee-beth took a turn for the worse. I tried to use a water based adhesive. Should have know better than to even try it so today I peeled out all the foam I'd glued on the hull sides and scraped the still soft adhesive, then washed the hull. At that point I was back at square 1. I did get the foam back on using 3M trim adhesive that the carpet supplier said was the Best product. Worked great and tomorrow I should be able to get the carpet installed before I have to leave for a couple of days of school.

More on my return.

Tim

Well, Tim, you better hurry. Martha only has until June, you know!

You're going to be glad you put the effort into the lining. That cute young couple on Primative (where are they, anyway?) are certainly pleased with the results of theirs.

Not much time at home for me and the boat today. Had to make a couple trips into town, and do some chores for my mom. One of her needs was for safety grab handles in her bathrooms. I bought four of the things for her, and her house only needed two. But, since I got stainless, I was considering putting the extra one in the head compartment of the boat. Kay is getting older, you know. However, she is reluctant to admit it, and says she doesn't need it there. First chance I get on the water, I'll wait for her to get settled, hit a good bump with the hull, and bounce her off of there! Then I'll get my stainless rail put up! (Just kidding, honey!)

The mechanical installation of the new trim tabs is done. Now I need to run the wires up to the switch and plug them all in. I might finish that up tonight; might not.

Tomorrow the anchor roller goes on.

There's a good chance the boat can go for a little ride next weekend!

The trim tabs install is complete, and they work (at least with the boat on the trailer).

I ordered the Lenco kit through and online outfit called Crook & Crook Tackletogo. They had the best price I could find, which was the same as the "buy it now" price on eBay. They were shipped pronto and got here when promised.

The reason I mention all that is because I am trying to persuade them to give me a special deal on the fancy indicator switch that is a Lenco option they normally sell for two hundred bucks. Included in the kit they sent me was an extra standard switch, and an extra controller module (two of each). I am sending them an email offering to return the parts, and suggesting they reward me by giving me a break on the optional switch. I'll let you know how they treat me, even though I told them I would return the extra stuff just because I am a good guy.

Well-

It's getting closer and closer to the soft water season, so I guess I need to get busy doing all the things I put on my "winter" list. (How did that list get so long anyway?)

As some of you may know, I bought the Navicula just as the ice was forming, and this is my first season on the water. So, there is a lot of little things I want to do to her to get her geared up right.

First, the addition of both a horn and a compass is a must. I can't believe that someone would be willing to motor around in Prince William Sound without either one of these safety items. But, alas, neither came with the boat. :? Any suggestions?

Second, I have just about made up my mind to replace the OLD Magellan 4000 GPS with a new Garmin 172C Chartplotter. It has all of the most desirable features of a Chartplotter, and I still have enough "mad money" to pick one up without drawing the attention of the Admiral.

Third, I'm looking at either buying a pre-packaged first-aid kit, or making one myself. The store-bought units seem pretty expensive for what they offer... What am I missing here? :?:

Then I need to find or have fabricated a bow rail and install it along with a bow roller, deck pipe and anchor locker. Sure would make anchoring safer and easier. (Maybe next year a small windlass...?)

So, to get me motivated to go out and start working (it is still a little cold here...) I just ordered a set of vinyl NAVICULA graphics. :D Should be here in a week or so.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Does anybody have any recommendations on good logbooks? I'm looking for a basic Captain's log as well as a maintainance log, and maybe a fishing log.

I really am starting to get excited about having a boat now that it's not (quite) so cold and dark. Can you tell?

Been working on projects too..
Anchor rode locker cover w/door.
Trim Tabs..went with the Bennett's... not sure now maybe I should've went with the Lenco's but it is little late for changing now... installed and putting finishing touches on them tomorrow. Also picking up paint for locker cover and transom board tomorrow... so much to do!!
