SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Pulled both tanks on my 22 and cleaned them out. Put in new hose and primer bulb for small engine. Cleaned boat and got ready for springer season. Now if the weather would just cooperate .

I have to admit that I like the rain.....it keeps our area less populated..

And it keeps my lawn green. It' moss, not grass...but it's green.

So, true and moss doesn't need to be frequently mowed which equates to more boat time with our vessels that are equipped with windshield wipers and an enclosed cabin.....what's not to like about that... :wink

It was such a dreary windswept rainy day (ferries all cancelled) that I installed 2 1 loop teak handrails vertically alongside the vee berth entry. One on port outside for the co pilot to cling to and one inside on starboard to give some protection for the back of the switch panels and help getting out of the bunk. Gave all the teak doors and trim a coat of oil it was 70 degrees in there with a bit of heat on. I hooked up the flushing ears and cranked the yami awake. Took 1 second. EFI. Let it run for 10 minutes. Trim, charging, cooling making good sounds. She is ready to depart. Yahoo Spring is here. George

 oops sorry about that "spring is here" comment Snowing this morning.

I am glad the scientist call it " climate change" mostly instead of "global warming". Weather is odd.

Kerri On is still ready to rock. Will dust off the snow! George. :tux :xseek

Good work - so what's the "rest of the story"? E.g. what did Mr. XXXXXXXX do/not do to get him and his vessel pressed against the rocks and how big was the vessel you towed?

Mr x lost ability to shift into gear. He didn't set an anchor cause he didnt have a phone or radio. He got in the 50 degree water to hold boat off rocks. He had a 17 ft beautiful wood skiff, lap strake construction. Its a little dinged up now. I had blankets and food and water to share.

I did a very similar tow a few years back. The lost the ability to shift into gear and didn't set an anchor because he didn't have one! He was also in the water trying to keep the boat off the rocks (this was south of Edmonds a few miles). Since he was perfectly safe, e.g. could walk onto the beach, the CG wasn't about to help. I wound up getting a line to him (in uncomfortably shallow water for me) and towed him back to Edmonds. He was happy the Wallas was working and glad I had towels etc. to get him dry and warm.

With Spring arriving later today, I started the long process of getting ready for cruising. I checked the safety equipment, flares, PFDs, Throwables, etc. Scouted out locations for the ACR AIS module and antenna.

I also determined that it's going to take a lot of cleaning and detailing to be presentable. I hate the outdoor storage, but it's free!

Looks like the float in the Stbd. fuel tank has sunk or disolved in the ethanol! The gauge reads empty and the tank is full into the filler hose. Great, another project. If next weekend warms up a bit, I may drag the boat to the house and start the cleaning.

Sorry to hear about that Roger. Ethanol is going to be a challenge I think. I hooked up Kerri On to the truck and powered up all the trailer lights, all good. And checked the charging system of the truck to boat. All good there too. Just have to de winterize the water tank in a while and do another all over wash and load fuel. Easter weekend we are out for 4 days in northern Gulf Islands. Went thru the charts onboard. All there for San Juan's and Gulf Islands and Sunshine coast. Good for a bit. See you soon. Best of luck on the gauge. George

Roger - what makes you think it's the float (as opposed to an electrical connection)?

Sea Angel hit the water for the first time this year. What a beautiful day; 63degrees, light N breeze and the Lower Ches. Bay was "flat". To think that today is the last day of winter...

Abt 100yrds from our departure dock we came across a 21' RINKER I/O bowrider at anchor, in the channel, the engine box cover up and 3 POB. This was the owner's first time out for the year. The engine had quit shortly after leaving his marina. (And after the boat had just been serviced- OUCH) We had our first tow for the season, real close to home; but, back to an adjacent marina's dock and not too far at that.

All of my systems went super all day. Loaded heavy, I still made 29.3 kts.[not while towing  , later ]

Let the season roll! :D

Just finished up modifying the tie bar set up between the main motor and the kicker. Now the bar clears all the cables and fuel lines. And as Kathy discribes me to all her friends and co-workers, "Ain't pretty, but works fine".

Pulled Kerri On off the lawn at Carolyns and checked all lights, tire pressures and tire conditions. Took it on down the road and loaded gas. Bearings and tires and lights all good. Gas price $1.34 liter about $5.50 a gallon. Put on a full load, so I just need groceries and beer and Easter weekend when we'll be out for 4 or 5 days. Looking good :thup

Now to get my season really started here in Va. Beach.

Sea Angel now has fresh water in her tank and all systems are working great.
The WX should be fine this Friday and the wind reduced for a Ches. Bay run. Hope we are up for the forthcoming cruises.... best get to the bike and exercise more to improve the fitness and take off some of the weight.

That big "70" comes on Wednesday, with or without me. Where did all those days or years go?

I realize that my first day of life constituted 100%.
The 2nd day was 50%, and the 3rd was 33%;
but, after 25,567.5 days(70yrs) later, this birthday is only 0.0039112% of my life! Now, I understand why time flies by soooo fast. Go figure 8) .

Installed a dura-deck plastic flooring in the cockpit (managed that all by myself!). Had my neighbour, marine carpenter, measure up Nomad for all sorts of interior mods. I am excited. I will post pics when the work is completed. Next, was delivering the boat to a marine body shop for anti-foul paint job, gel-coat dings repaired, and blue stripe re-painted. Got to have her looking her best for the Comox gathering. Who do I bill ?

Martin.

Great job Martin! Nice to have a good neighbor. I usually send big invoices to Her Royal Majesty Queen of England , London England

Try that one.
George
