SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OR ON YOUR C-DORY TODAY??

Been camping in Channel Islands Harbor, with our motorhome group. Made a couple trips out around the Gina Oil Platform with some of the group to watch the dolphins. ood water and little winds made for a good trip for the guests.

Spent the afternoon out with my sister and B-in-Law. Took a not so smooth ride from Sequim to Port Townsend, turned around the Point Wilson lighthouse with a 2-3 foot tidal slop, and did OK, then off to lunch after cruising the PT water front. Saw 2 pilot whales, and several seals, pups and moms, and enjoyed running back into the sun, sparkling on the waves, and all the colors of blue possible in the spectrum. It was a good day on the water.

Although this weekend was not spent on "Sea Shift", I did accomplish plenty of on the water time on our Fire/Rescue boat on Lake Stevens for the 50th Annual Aqua Fest activites. Saturday, my scheduled on the water time was from 0630 HRS. to 2300 HRS (with a 2 1/2 hour break). We joined L.S.P.D. in providing an active presence on the lake during Water Skiing and Wake Board competitions (keeping other vessels clear of the competition course), lead the decorated boat parade around the lake, accompanied the fireworks barge to the middle of the lake, and helped maintain a buffer zone to keep other vessels a safe distance from the fireworks barge during a relatively short but fine display of fireworks after dark. Sunday, our on the water time was from 1100 HRS to 1600 HRS where we provided a similar presence during the Emerald City Show Ski Teams exhibition and the $50 dollar boat race (homemade vessels constructed for $50. or less.). The weather was perfect for a great weekend filled with not only activities on the water but many shore based activities and vendor booths with the usual arts/crafts, food and community organization informational booths.

Georgous weather at Mystery Bay State Park, the trip over from Sequim Bay, and back on Sunday. Saw tons of boats, 50+, fishing off Point Wilson, at slack low tide. Then dolphins at teh opening of Discovery Bay. Then the desert, Paul from the JC, Lately met me at JW marina and we went out for a boat ride. Working on the Auto Pilot calibration. Got it working and so far the plotter chart has stayed right side up. Ya gotta love a great day on the water, and a good neighbor too.

This week end spent at Sequim Bay State Park. Busy with crabbers, cruisers, and wake boarders ---brrrrr. So, if you leave the dock, you don't get to keep your spot, so I waited until late in the evening to make my battery charge run, about 8PM. Ran for an hour, came back to find a 19 foot Arima occupying the middle of a 40 foot dock space. NO PROB, we rafted to my friends, B-boat. First time to raft up on the outside. (Been on the inside (raftee), several times, but not the rafter before.)

Then, Sunday, on the way to the dock, their boat would not restart after the pump out stop. Got to do a tow on the hip. Short yes, but it counts, and a lady on the dock took a picture. Made it fine. Two firsts this weekend. A good time, good friends, and time on the water. A great way to recharge my batteries too.

What a Great place Lake Tellico near Knoxville ,Tn. We have been here 2 weeks and have another 2 weeks to go . We have been exploring Lake Ft.Loudon and Lake Tellico You could spend all summer here and not see all that is to offer . Gas is at $2.49 gallon so like is good . We rented a house with dock .From this dock we could go all the way down to Naples ,fl. if we liked . This would be a great place for a gathering . Everyone take care safe boating and enjoy the summer . Jim

Bill and El have explored here also check out their Blog

Absolutely nothing. The boat is in Hingham and I am in Nantucket. The wife has a bum hip, business is good and busy, and I can't go very far, so the only boating I get is USCGAux Patrols.

Such as life is

Maybe next year..

Fred

Hey Fred, just a thought.... why don't you bring the boat out to Nantucket until you can sell the Board and Bondage (B&B, I know you've had it on the market).... At least you could use it when you get a 10 minute break...

I feel for you, hang in there...

Just completed two days of messing around on the boat to get ready for a Neah Bay fishing trip tomorrow. I gave her a good wash down, check pressure in all the tires, lubed where needed, filled both tanks; ran each engine on the muffs to make sure they were starting and running well (had them tuned up at EQ in May), scrubbed the canvas, loaded gear, sorted through all the fishing tackle and tied a bunch of salmon leaders, tied up some leaders with hootchies, readied some rotory clips for herring, put new hooks on a bunch of coho killer spoons, prepared my shrimp fly set-ups for bottom fishing, put new leaders on my down rigger clips, swapped in a new connector for one of my down riggers, loaded the fishing rods on board, packed all my clothes and made sure I had both a Canadian and US license at in my pocket. I'm pretty much ready to go. Have to go to work for a half day or so and then I'm off to Neah Bay tomorrow.

Don't have the CD up here but the crabbing is good, and they make pretty bow ornaments.

Had a bit different weekend out than planned! Launched at Everett, with intention of dropping the hook in Elger Bay on the west side of Camano. When we got there, it just did not look like it had any protection at all, and we saw no public land to take Baxter ashore, so we decided to head up to our Fall City neighbor Garry Anderson's buoy at Sunset Beach. We called him to make sure we knew which house / buoy were his, and he asked if we wanted some company, so he and his wife Vicki came up, and we ended up sleeping on the pull-out sofa sleeper in their cottage! And glad we did, because there was zero protection, and we could see Daydream rocking and rolling on the buoy. So they stayed the weekend, and we had a grand time. Dropped our crab pots right in front of their house Friday night. We dug clams (no red tide at Camano) and I made my famous fried clams for lunch on Saturday, and we had the crab I caught and a salmon Garry had just caught at Neah Bay for dinner. To top it all off, when we got back home to Fall City, they had a wonderful halibut that Garry had also just caught ready for us after we flushed the motor and rinsed the brakes. All in all, a fine weekend!

Hi Pat

Glad to hear you at least at a good trip and slept out of the wind. Elger Bay has good protection from northerlies and is an overflow spot from Langley, many sailboats pull in at night. You are very correct about the beach, it is all private, there are actually 3 different communities that share the beach, we have the beach with the very large houses, then another to the right of the small boat ramp and lately ours which is to the right of the last house. At low tides one can crab right on the beach. The people living right on the water get really bent out of shape if someone rafts in. They are some pretty snooty people down there. Heck we even get scowls when we walk out dog there! But the crabbing is good.

there is actualy some DNR land in Elger Bay but you need exact coordinates or you will catch heck from the locals. as he said, real snooty bunch there.
you can see the DNR lands on the game dept. map for the shellfish beaches. cannot get good cordinates off that map though.

Roger is correct, there is a strip of DNR land, there is a small stream that feeds into Elger bay and a large area of logs behind it. Actually Roger I forgot about it, this is a small group of houses north of the stream, they actually are the most vocal and it's not even their beach, sometimes we just walk down there to rile them up a bit. Fortunately we live 1 block up so we are the friendly group and not the snooty crowd

We finely brought Serenity home from the fixit shop. it has been a long and arduous affair getting the motor changed out.we went from a Honda 90 to a Honda 150. after several prop changes we settled on a nice used SS unit. at wot it runs at 5800 rpm and was about 38 mph on gps. way faster than I will ever use it and it was fairly empty of all the needs for a good cruise. only about 10 gal. of gas and no water.

we are excited to get her out into the sound for a weekend somewhere. maybe up to Bellingham and out and about up there.

any ways, we now have a 90 honda with 25 in shaft for sale.it is a 1996 model with about 600 hrs use.

Well, on this perfect August day we took Lizzie on her final cruise with us aboard. Dotty and I have decided that it's time. No single profound reason like bad health or the economy, we just know that it's time. Next week we will take her up to Les and Kathy at EQ Marine and they will sell her for us. If you are interested in any particulars, including the asking price, contact them directly anytime after next Tuesday or Wednesday. . As for Dotty and me, maybe someday we'll move up to a fourteen footer.

Marty-

Sorry to hear your selling Lizzy, but I understand fully, and know you'll always be here as a C-Brat with your great sense of humor and sharp wit!

Joe. :teeth :thup
