On Sunday, 11/9/03, the first C-Dory Snohomish River Delta Cruise will be "casting off lines" at 1100 Hours from the Everett Marina Park public boat launch. This will be a cruise of the lower Snohomish River and the backwater/sloughs that are accessible from the river.

Thank you, Leo for setting the date and time for this cruise. As of now, I count 4 vessels that are planning on attending this event. (Leo, Catman, Daydream and myself).

OK! Getting anxious for Sunday! It is going to be a Wallas day for sure, any idea how long we will be out? Just curious - for me, the longer the better!

Pat, I don't know how long we'll be out, but I'd like to drive home with some light if possible. Maybe back to the truck at around 4 p.m., giving us five hours on the water.
MartyP, glad you're going to try to make it.

Daydream, what do you mean a Wallas Heater type day? As for those of us in the sweet 16's all we've got are the "Armstrong" heaters, and I don't know about Brock, but my "Armstrong" heater said, she ain't goin'!

OK, Rev - bundle up then! If you want to thaw out, come aboard Daydream any old time :wink

We are digging potatos down in Snohomish so I am needed to drive truck. we are driving along the Lowell/River road that follows the Snohomish river from Everett to Snohomish. Maybe I will see you out there on the river as I drive By.there is a nice boat launch along that stretch of the river that has a small dock and paved launch. lots of parking too. I will have my cell :phone with me. the # 360/661-3703 . You all have a good day on the water,ya hear!!!

Roger,
We're gonna miss you! But we'll watch for you. If anyone going on this cruise has a cell phone that they will have with them, would you please e-mail the phone number to me. Since, you will most likely have started the cruise before I get there, I can then call you and find out where you are at.
Thanks.

(Roger, when we get near the river stretch that parallels the road that you'll be travelling, I'll give you a call.

By the way, I don't think Leo has signed on, but he mentioned departure time at 10 or 11 a.m. We might want to leave a little earlier than 11 a.m. Let's see what our Cruise Director has planned.

Hi Gang,
It is fine with me if you want to depart a bit earlier. Should we cast off the lines at 10:30 am? 10:00am? We should map out a rough itinerary so that any latecomers know which slough to find us cruising on.
Best Regards, Leo.

Hi, Leo. I like 10:30 a.m., if that works for you guys. But let's remember that Sea Shift will be behind us, and go at a speed that allows him to rendezvous.
Once again, we're meeting at the main Everett launch just north of the huge marina, and Anthony's Home Port restaurant, no?

Biting my lip, biting my lip, don't make a smart a** comment...

CM, quit leaving such tempting targets around here.

Actually, I may be there by 1030HRS as I've decided to drag "Sea Shift" to work with me tomarrow morning so that when I get off work on Sunday morning, I'll drive directly to Everett Marina Launch. Brock, it is the 10thStreet Launch off of Marine View Drive. The entrance to the launch site is north of the Everett Navy Base and North of Anthony's.

Hey Bill, I guess I can only imagine your comment to Brocks posting, but we can take it. ("Slow and Sure" are my thoughts, but yours is probably different).

If for some reason any one is delayed in joining up with the cruise, I'll monitor CH 68.
I managed to print up a map of the various "waterways" in the Snohomish River Delta as well as an aerial photograph of the area.

Hi C-Brats,
It looks like we will be having great weather for our cruise tomorrow. I will bring my USGS quad maps of the delta tomorrow so we can study our options. The NOAA charts don't cover much of the waterways east of I-5.
I was down at the marina today washing the boat and noticed it was getting pretty dark by 5:00 pm. Fortunately Dave has his rooftop spotlight to guide us back to the boat ramp if we are out too late.
See you all at the ramp.
Best Regards, Leo.

Hey Leo, I was getting worried about you since you hadn't posted anything recently.
Today, I photo-copied 8 pages of the Thomas Brothers Guide of the area we can cruise. Then I highlighted three different routes in various colors so each cruising vessel can have a copy.
For sure, we can cruise from Everett to Snohomish. (I also highlighted the areas in the river to "steer clear of").
I've been told that the "outback channels" could be treacherous because of all the logs/debris that came down in the recent flood. (We can all discuss this before we depart on the cruise). We don't want to lose props!
I'm at work now and "Sea Shift" is hitched and ready to go just outside my sleeping quarters. Hopefully, I won't get a "late call" that delays my getting off work on time..............so, no one call 911 after 0600 HRS so I can be off work and out the door by 0900 HRS. :smilep

Brock, :crook I almost forgot to mention that I have some brightly colored surveyors tape included with your "map packet". :wink
