Small cracks in fibeglass floor betwen the seats

I have a 1995 16 ft C-Dory Angler. The boat has developed about 3 or 4 one foot long hairline cracks in between the 2 seats in the bridge area. They appeared fairly recently and I have heard a little"crack" sound at times when I step in this area between the seats...It has me somewhat concerned. Has anyone else experienced this problem...do I need to grind the area up and put down some fiberglass or is it more of just a surface problem? Thanks for any suggestions!

It sounds as if there is some breakdown of the structure beneath the gel coat. Not sure where you are refering to...But if you can access this from underneath, that would be better than trying to do a surface repair with glass cloth (I would use several layers of 12 oz biaxial cloth, with epoxy for a repair underneath. ) If you have to add glass on the front side, you will have to do a lot of cosmetic blending and gel coating. This may be the best way to go, if you cannot access under side.
