Simrad autopilot standby switch

I am piecing together an simrad autopilot with an NAC-2 autopilot computer. I understand that if you buy the whole kit at once it comes with a standby button to mount on the dash. Since I'm piecing the autopilot together, I was wondering if anyone knew whether the button that comes with the kit is a normally open or normally closed momentary switch?

If nobody knows, I can buy the switch directly from Navico, but I thought I'd save a few bucks since non-brand name momentary switches are cheap. Thanks in advance!

I have a Lowrance outboard autopilot with the same switch.

The switch is slaved to the AP. If the AP is engaged, and you want to put it on standby with the switch, you push it and the AP goes on standby. Push it again, and the AP re-engages.

Of course, you can also put the AP on standby by pushing the button on your AP window on your sonar display, and/or by clicking on the power button switch which will bring up a pop up screen with a stand by button.

Either way, you have three ways to put the AP on stand by.

Good luck,

D
