Simple solutions

Hi Dan,

Thanks for posting those photos. I've been thinking of putting in a heater like yours. That location looks good. Can you still use the left hand burner on the alcohol stove?
Now that you have used that heater in that location, would you do anything different? Does the propane tank location interfere with getting into the cockpit?

Like you I've put the non-skid strips to the swim platform. I've also put small ones on the two cockpit steps (after slipping off them a couple times). The 3 M tape strips stick well.

Very nice, Dan.

What type of pump is that remote pickup connected to? By manual, do you mean a manually switched electric or a hand actuated diaphragm pump? It ought to pick up all the water from the depression, that's for sure.

Good ideas, all.

I like the pickup idea in the bilge depression... why didn't I think of that?
Where is the pump mounted and how well does it work?

I also struggled with the decision of where to mount my Force 10 Cozy Cabin heater. I put it aft cabin on the Starboard side. I like it there. It is out of the way and the heat rises to heat the whole cabin. I need to add a fan and a heat shield to reflect heat forward one of these days. I got a friend of mine to comit to giving me a piece of stailness that he was going to break and press to shape but he has been pretty busy so I have taken it easy on him. Might have to call that in soon though but that would mean I have to go measure the piece  .

Great idea about the foam pad under the cabin carpet. We have the carpet and it's such an easy solution to cold feet in winter. Keep the simple ideas coming - they're great!
