Shuswap Lake Boat Launches

We are taking Mistaya back to the salt water in June and Shuswap Lake is about half way to the coast for us. I would like to put her in for a day or two for a shakedown cruise and to split up the trip a bit. We had planned to cruise here last September, but all of the forest fire smoke kept us at home. There are a couple of private marinas that offer good launches and parking, but they tend to be pricey. I know of a number of other free public launches, but the Shuswap tourism websites really don't say if they are deep or not. I have had the problem a couple of times that I backed into a ramp and the water was not deep enough to float a C-Dory.

If you have any experience launching a Shuswap, I would appreciate your recommendations. Parking is also a consideration, especially if I decide to spent the night on the lake.

Peter & Judy,
The public ramp at Sicamous is one I've used several times. Its right off hiway 1, (you can see it from the bridge) was no charge the last time I used it several years ago and had free parking. Concrete ramps and in June the water should still be pretty high.
