For those who have shore power. How many times have you unintentionally tripped a switch on the breaker box which is under the table behind your leg. Or had a over zealous child or grand child break one off with their foot? I've had both happen. So I made a cover out of a 5X9 piece of 3/8" plexiglass.

No Mike, it isn't teak...........Cherry stained with teak oil. I ran out of teak. And yes Pat, I made one for you also.

Smart and looks good. Wish I had one but I don't have shore power.
 
Very cool! We also have (A) unintentionally turned switches off and (2) broken the durn switch lever off. This will take care of these issues nicely!

Anyone got an equally neat solution for the back side of the breaker panel which projects into storage area ? I don't like having live terminals there, could ruin a good day !

Merv, Worse Marine (excuse me...) sells lots of sizes of plastic backpanels for AC breaker panels that look like they'll do the job fine. Although as usual, anything at a 'marine' store is going to be pricey -- particularly when you're looking at a piece of plastic!
 
Recently did an update on my battery wiring. Pics and description to follow sometime. To cover some new negative busses in the lazarettes I used a piece of that real thin plastic cutting board stuff. The kind that is flexible and about as thick as posterboard. I attached it at the top with a couple of stainless screws and it hangs down over the electrical connections. Keeps them dry and free from accidental wrench caused short circuits. Should work fine on the back side of the panels.

The Worst Marine solution is exactly what bugs me. $20.- for a 2c piece of moulded plastic gets up my nose.

Currently snooping aound the aisles at Ace and grocery stores as I am sure there has to be one of those plastic food containers that would fit.

Failing that I will emulate the excellent Front cover on this thread and make a work of art from Teak and plastic that at least would look like it was worth a few bucks.

Thanks David for the design and sharing it with others. Yes, those breakers are easily bumped off. I even have one broken off. That looks like a nice fix.
