Senior C-Brat

In the Navy we have all sorts of titles. Senior Aviator, Senior Surface Warrior, etc, etc.

In the C-Brats, we need to have such a title. I believe Dusty (Sawdust) would so qualify, I think he's coming up on 91.

If there's anyone senior, please speak up, I intend to commission a trophy/plaque that will have the name of the Senior Brat engraved on to be passed on like the FedEx Golf Trophy (with a lot less $$ attached to it) to be presented at SBS 11 and annually thereafter (until I win it myself if I live long enough).

Any contenders? If so, their name will appear on it at SBS 11. I will present it personally....

I don't know of anyone older (or nicer) amongst the Brats than Dusty. Does being the Sr. C-Brat give one special privileges? E.g. is one granted X number of Sr. C-Brat minutes/year or allowed to define the special C-Brat handshake or code? Inquiring minds want to know.

Don't know (yet) Roger. Don (Sneaks) sent me a PM though and since it wasn't his usual stuff that cannot be published, I'll post it here.

There are two kinds of senior here, Charlie. TyBoo and DaNag qualify as the senior C-Brats since they are the originators. User numbers 4 and 5 respectively.

Then there are the "seasoned" C-Brats. Those who are chronologically advantaged and/or with the most sea time. Undoubtably Dusty heads the pack in both time at sea and longivity. I think he was an oarsman on the boat that Washington used to cross the Potomac. From the painting it looks like he could be the third port oarsman but I could be mistaken.

In any case, is the title "Senior C-Brat" appropriate? Or should we mull over the title a bit more?

It was late when I posted this last night and in the light of day, I think we should "mull" this over. Don is quite correct...

What are the Brats Thoughts?

What a cool idea!

In Coast Guard aviation, we call the aviator who holds the oldest designation as a pilot "The Ancient Albatross". There's also the Enlisted Ancient Albatross for longest serving enlisted aircrewman. They even attend awards ceremonies in long leather flying coats with white scarf and goggles. The title might also be a fitting for your idea.
