Yep , thats one of the few bow pickers they built in the 80's. Its for running drift/gillnets off the bow for salmon fishing.
 
That boat is a 'bow picker' commercial net fishing boat. They were built for the Alaska fishing trade. The boat is set up to maximize the fish and gear carrying capacity, not cabin room.

The I/O or sterndrive can be maintenance intensive, and may not be as fuel efficient as modern 4-stroke outboards.

Could be a good boat to carry cargo, but not so good as a pleasure boat unless you want a larger open deck, which will be wet in a seaway.
