Hello all,

Now that we can fish again in Monterey Bay for Salmon, I've dusted off the 16 footer for fishing (she does this great). I need to refasten the passenger seat post to the floor as it is loose.

Taking it off was easy but any advise on what is underneath the floor and a good way to refasten would be so helpful. Thanks in advance!

Shogimac,
I had a loose seat pedestal too. I overdrilled the bolt holes and jb welded them. There is a dead air space under the cabin floor. Shorter bolts go on the outside so you don't puncture the hull. That area drains the cuddy to the bronze outlet behind the seats. I considered rotating the pedestal to find solid floor to bolt into but found a cooler with cushion worked well and gave me the option of more cabin room when wanted.
I really enjoy reading and viewing your travels in Alaska!

Thanks for the question and response. Believe it or not I was headed to the boat shelter to replace the old post on my 16'angler and saw this. Perfect! I found what looks to be a good fit at fisheriessupply.com in Seattle. But simply using a cooler and foam may be an even better idea.

As long as you're considering alternatives, here's what Pat Anderson did on Crabby Lou
