Seat/key turn off

The other day I was out on the boat. Passing through Montlake Cut I turned around to the left to see what was behind me. The motor shut off. I started up again and continued on without incident until I turned again and it again shut off. It turns out (or turns off) that the back right edged of the seat hits the key and turns it off! Anyone else have this happen? What is the best fix? Thanks

Yup...experienced this when trying to dock my boat the very first time  Took the boat to the dealer for a few minor tweaks and had them move the seat over a bit. Problem solved.

I have had the same problem. It happened probably 4 or 5 times. The first time is of course the worst. I just live with it. I can't turn the seat all the way around anyway so I don't mess with it.

You know Dave, now that I think about it, maybe it can be considered an upgrade. When you turn your seat to leave the engine "automatically" shuts down. Sort of a non lanyard kill switch.

Marty, are you sure it is the boat's seat doing this, or could it be your own seat? You've had this boat for a while and you're just now seeing this problem? Boat seats don't grow; butts do.

Just like Dave..............sorry Marty couldn't resist :sad

Mike-I saw a picture of you with your official name tag! I guess you're right, If you live long enough anything is possible. (By the way, you do look good in those pictures) :peace:

I have had both problems with my boat. I learned to live with it, but after I finish lengthening the boat and reinstalling the controls, I will try and remedy the problem. Shouldn’t be too hard to do.
