Sea Sport manufactured 22' cruiser

Hardee...You have a great idea....and I agree...I also do not like the small step...and a combination step and battery box would be perfect..it would move some weight forward and down...and allow use of that lazarette for other things.... I remember years ago Buick had long skinny batteries...so the step/battery locker would not need be real wide...neat idea..worth playing around with...

I like the idea of a 2 step step HarveySleepyC :moon

Harvey, I have a "2 step step" that I purchased from West Marine. It is made of aluminum with wooden steps and mounts on the inside of the gunnel. Easily removed from its' mounting brackets. Primarily I purchased them for my short legged wife, but I've found that I truly enjoy the steps as well.

(The "2 step step" certainly makes ingress and egress much easier.....perhaps it will make my knees last longer, so when the country music is cranked up in my older years I'll still be able to dance the :note "Two Step" :note :smilep ).

harvey you are right its definatley a 2 step but it is an improvment over that little step thats a leg buster .loree and i had a Great time it was fun seeing a lot of the c-brats putting names with boats etc.

Dave, Which "2-Step" ladder from WM are you referring to? I have been using a 4 step boarding ladder that does not attach. It does have some issues, but makes it easier for Deena to get on and off.

Hi Dave,

Any chance you can provide a link to that "2-step step" you found at West Marine? I checked the site but couldn't pick out which one you described.

Thanks,
Pat

I installed a longer, wider and higher step this past fall and its worke out so well that I wish I'd done this much sooner. Got the idea from Dave on Alma's Only, (thanks). Pictures posted in Widget's album.

I had installed a Garelick 2 step removable step that attached to the gunnel with two metal brackets. I had brackets on both port and starboard and just switched the step depending on which side I was docking on.
I believe West Marine used to carry it but I don't see it in the 2009 catalog.

Had the Garelick 2 step on my 22 and have added one to my 16, with a set of brackets on each side. Google it and you'll find it and an extra set of brackets somewhere. Very useful for those of us with bad knees, etc.!
