I replaced 4 of the screws around the corners of each sliding window with male screw-in snaps. Then I sewed a basting strip around noseeum netting cut to the size of the window openings. I then attached the female snaps to the basting. Folds up and stashes out of the way.
For real bug problems, I use a mosquito coil in the splash well. With the boat on anchor, the wind usually blows the smoke in the right direction to keep the bugs ashore. It even worked on Lake Ozette.
After purchasing my boat 3 years ago, I found that the sliding screens were missing. I tried to purchase them through 3 Rivers Marine and Diamond Seaglaze, with no luck. I ended up buying the frame and corner pieces on line and buying the screen at my local hardware store.
Hey guys! thanks a ton.. I think i might do the snaps as a straightforward and easy approach to this project! thanks for the input! as usual c-brats rule!
Thanks
