Scotty Rail Mounts

Hi There,
I need to add two Scotty Rail Mounts to my (soon to be delivered) Tomcat. I've used the traditional scotty side mounts in the past with good success but ran across the following:

http://www.amazon.com/Scotty-287-Rail-M ... rail+mount

These rail mounts seem to come in 7/8" and 1 1/4". Why wouldn't they make a 1"??? That seems pretty standard to me.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Any other solutions?

I'd like to reduce the profile as much as possible while being able to hold a rod with a 2.5# lead ball when needed.

Thanks

Just put these same mounts on our TomCat they work real well , the side rails are 1 1/4 " so that is the size you will need . easy to install and easy to use .

Before I order these, I just wanted to make sure.

The owners manual I found on-line states:
"Hand rails: Heavy duty hand rails, 1" S.S. (through bolted)."

The boat I'm buying is the 2006, same as yours. Are the rails in the cockpit 1 1/4" or did this mount fit a 1" rail?

Mine are 1 1/4" in the cockpit, 7/8" on the hand rails on the roof and the hand holds on the bulkhead. I ordered Folbe rod holders designed to be mounted on downrigger booms. These allowed me to mount to the vertical portions of the cockpit rails (near the corners) in such a way that the fixed part of the mount didn't interfere with my slant back canvas. The removable part of the rod holder can be taken off when the canvas is installed. Yes, they are pricier.
