SAUNA

On Saturday, after I dropped Jan off to take the dog for a walk, I proceeded to turn my C-Dory into a SAUNA.

I zipped closed the V-berth curtain, turned on the two burner Wallas, fired up the Honda gen. and cranked up the 1500 Watt elect. heater. Total max. heat output, approx. 12,000 BTU Plus.

I was tearing off cloths and sweating profusely within about 10-15 minutes. I shut down the heaters, stepped out the door, turned off the Honda gen. and jumped in the river....Ah, refreshing!!!

That's pretty much what I did today. I worked on the boat, sweated bullets, and then took her out for a spin. The wind was at about 20 knots so I asked my wife to bring her into the slip. With boat hook in hand I stepped on to the bow to capture the bow line once she brought the boat to a stop... at first my wife did real well then when.. only I had the bow line, she forgot the difference between reverse and neutral.

Long story short...between the wind and the reverse at idle.. I skinny but went into the drink. 61 degrees F was the water. Felt good to me...

I held on to a boat line as my wife backed out to make another pass. After I figured out this was not my smartest move I let go, swam to the dock and awaited my boat to come in.

I don't know who laughed the hardest me or my wife. This was her first time at the helm this year and last year being her first time at the helm... she did damn good.

Oh yes... we had the 5 grandkids aboard.... I will never live this down.
