Salmon - B10 and Beyond

I don't think we'll make it down Saturday, we'll be there bumper boating Sunday though. There was a pretty good bite between 11 and the yellow can today....to many durn boats out there though, so we went on the wing dam tour. Maybe we'll see you Sunday?

Four fish today. Two chinook, two cojos. Turned loose a couple of natives, and had two big fellers cut the leader and escape the freezer. We didn't like the looks of things as we got closer to the mouth, so we went to the WA side and fished toward the bridge. Then we ran above the bridge after the tide turned and picked up a couple trolling back down. Tomorrow morning, me 'n Tiff are heading to the bridge on the WA side before the tide turn. We have to be back home by 11:00, so it will be a short day.

We saw lots of fish caught up there this morning. You know it was the place to be, because the Raven/Heron team were over there on Raven. It has to be good for Raven Dave to leave the home state waters. If we hadn't screwed around thinking about going to the choppy ocean we might have had the other two we needed.

Chinook season can close and this year it doesn't owe me a thing. Thanks to Raven Dave and his hot tips on locations and gear, the Lynn Marie has had one heck of a season and this week-end was outstanding. Yesterday was a limit of Chinook in under an hour with a follow up today of another limit plus a fat clipped Coho. The last Chinook was a bright 32# caught on a spinner. Sure like big fish that have their teeth chomping on stainless wire instead of mono leader.

Looking forward to the next week or so and maybe the Coho will cooperate as well as the Chinook have. Great year and thanks again to all my teachers.

You may not believe it, but the 25-30 ft swells are what the serious surfers down here in California wait for all year. The crazies call in sick and go ride the big ones at Mavricks (below San Francisco about 20 milesand just off Half Moon Bay). "Surf to die for" may be just that! Not for me. Joe.

Ya, it's a trick question, the only folks that will be playing in that water will be the Coast Guard lifeboat trainees and Tyboo Mike.....I say Tyboo Mike cuz the water may be in his yard. I've seen those surfer nuts on the Telly...insane

We've got some minus tides coming up starting Thursday, anyone up for some clam digging between waves. May wait till Friday till the sneakers are not as frequent.

Ken, that was Plan A.... AS it stands I will be helping bring the Mrs B-Haven back up the river to Scapoose, spending the night Friday at Cathlamet. Maybe we'll get to see a few of you on the river... We'll be the boat with the Grey Pupon...

Sound like fun Ray, hard to beat a night in Cathalamet, are going to go down to the strip and hit the casinos or work over the mega malls by the highway? ....actually ..it does sound like fun, don't slip on any of that Grey pupon.
