While it's tempting to say "Yes, that's my nephew and I remember teaching him how to throw a fastball when he was just a tot", the truth is I have no idea if he is related. He was born in North Carolina in a city not too far from where many of my Dad's family originated but I know of no actual relationship between his family and mine. My guess is that he's some distant relative but I can't be sure. Now James Garner (Rockford Files) - his name was James Bumgarner and he's a 2nd or 3rd cousin to my dad.
