RIP MY Friend

A recently revived thread originally posted by a friend in 2015 has brought back a flood of memories.

Many will remember Cbrat Larry Patrick. Larry and his wife Joanne bought Dave and Ginny Deem's 23 Venture. They loved the boat and Larry became a very active member here. Larry underwent double knee surgery in Sept 2017 and had to retire. Joanne had 1 more year to work then they were looking forward to spending their golden years on the boat. Unfortunately Larry passed away suddenly in November 2017.

Joanne listed the boat for sale the following March using Larry's profile here. Both Dave Deem and myself helped her as best we could. It was a very difficult thing for her as she had not only lost her partner but had to part with the boat that had given them so much pleasure and promised so many more good times. She asked me not to mention Larry's passing until the boat was sold. She didn't want prospective buyers to know she was a woman alone. I could relate to that because when my father passed my mother kept his name under her phone listing for the same reasons. She sold the boat in June 2018.

Joanne - please know your Cbrat family shares your grief and wishes you the best and happyness in your life moving forward.

Larry - I miss your comments here - always possitive and always a thank you for any help or suggestions that were offered to you. Although we never met I had hoped to meet up across the pond some day(our mutual pond Lake Erie).

RIP My Friend,

Rob

Rob, I remember Larry, seeing his posts and that he was knowledgeable and helpful. he must have been a great guy. Glad you were able to help with moving the boat for them. don't know if Joanne ever gets out west, but if she does, and would like a ride, I would be glad to share.

RIP Larry. Peace.
