So, what do you think? I kinda like it..

I like the look of white bottom paint. I just painted the bottom of my sailboat with white E Paint, a non-copper anti-fouling paint. E Paint has a shiny satin finish that looks like it would be a lot slicker in the water than regular chalky anti-fouling paint. It might even be good for some mileage improvement. I'd be tempted to try in on my CD 16 except for the problem of removing the old anti-fouling paint. That was a horrible project and I probably created an EPA Super Fund site around my shop. But the white hull even looks faster.

I don't like it that much (not that they asked me since I haven't ordered a new boat lately). It's not the colors - I like those a lot. It's that the top of the hull (sheer stripe) now matches the cabin, and to my mind the height of the cabin is not what you want to emphasize (or make taller looking). Then when I look at the hull instead of "seeing" the whole hull I see this thin blue "hull" that doesn't totally make sense to my eye. I guess it's like if you have short legs and a long torso, but then you wear a wide belt that's the same color as your shirt. Now you see an even longer torso and shorter legs.

With the "traditional" scheme, I don't "see" the cabin as any larger than it actually is because it visually ends at the sheer stripe. Then too, the sheer stripe emphasizes the sheer (which is a very pretty line on the 22), but I can still "see" the hull (topsides) as being as deep as it really is.

That's just how it looks to me, and why it's not a great look to my eye. To each their own though and maybe it doesn't look that way to others.

I think it looks a bit pudgy, but I reserve judgement until I see a pic of that tomcat in the water. They all look a bit awkward on a trailer from certain angles. It has potential to look pretty cool floating.

Solid color is no problem whether light ,dark or in between . Can order reverse as well . For Wefings, working with Ron and Greg at NWMI is an absolute pleasure and they are open to new ideas , improvements and suggestions.
Best version of C Dory management ever !
Excited about Sea Sport as well .

I think this would look more C-Dory it there was a dark gunnel deck to separate the white shear strip from the top half of the boat.

I guess I think of that shear strip as a C-Dory trademark, and it is certainly helpful in identifying a C-Dory when at some distance on the water, even coming straight at you, because if gives you that special C-Dory smile. It would be a lot harder to distinguish that with the white strip and a full white deck and cabin.

Notice there is still a brow and cabin top trim color.
