Nice article on the birth of the rescue swimmer program. Thought maybe some of you would enjoy it. Plus, it has a couple of nice pics of the mighty HH-3F...a great helicopter we used to fly back when I first started in aviation.

Wandering Sagebrush did they ever have you practice water rescue from H34? At MARTD NAS Norfolk all aircrew had to qualify on rescue hoist and "saving" survivors including putting gunner into the water. Of course we had no sophisticated swim equipment other than being Marines. 8>))

Kudos to the Coast Guard!
