Replacing transom cap

The port side of my transom cap is gone and the other half looks awful. I'm going to add some fiberglass reinforcing to the top of the transom (under the cap) to give more protection and then I'll need a new cap.
Does anyone know where to get something similar to what the factory uses?
Or a better alternative?
I've considered fabricating one out of aluminum, but would like some other suggestions. Thank you.
 
I don't know where to buy the the plastic cap material.
TAC0 who makes the trim and vinyl rub rail does not have it listed.

Call the C Dory builder and see if they can give you a source.

Under this cap is where the hull to deck joint is bonded. This should be covered with glass laminate--not just polyester resin...

You don't want to put screws into the top of the transom. For that reason I have not used aluminum cap material.
