Replacement Morse Steering Help

I need to replace the original Morse steering system on my 1988 C-22. Still have original Johnson 70. Would like to change over to NFB 4.2 system with new cable. Questions:

Will original steering wheel work with new helm unit? Wheel has geared shaft sticking through bulknead. Helm looks like it has a tapered shaft already on it. Will this work?

Will new Teleflex cable work on tilt tube attachment on Johnson motor or will I need additional adapter to make connection?

My Morse helm blew apart from trying to force a frozen cable....

Anyone who has done this change on a Johnson would be very helpful.

Welcome aboard.

The steering wheel will work, the 3/4in tapered shaft is standard.

All thru-the-tilt-tube steering cables will fit your Johnson motors.
