I got a kick out of the recent thread on hot tubs and it brought a funny story to mind. Last summer I was working on my dock, every few years silt builds up around and in my boathouse from passing boats and I was blowing it out with my old Mercury. The drill is I tie off to the pilings on and out going tide put the engine in gear and let the prop wash blow out the silt. This results is a hole being blown out at the end of the dock about 4' deep. My daughter and her boyfriend came out on the dock while I was doing this to sunbath and go for a swim. My daughters boyfriend is from Central Ohio and hasn't spent much time around the sea. I guess this churning water looked inviting to him so after stating "Hey a Redneck Jacuzzi" he swam in to the prop wash about 10' behind the boat and began enjoying the warm jet turbulance. Apparently a jelly fish was sucked into my prop and sprayed all over him. When he quickly climbed up the ladder to the dock he had a terrible rash from his knees to his shoulders and was hopping around like he was on hot coals. Needless to say he doesn't get in the Jacuzzi anymore despite my repeated offers to crank it up!
