Radar Arches

I'm in the process of having a radar arch built for my CD25. I'm wondering which one to go with the short one or the tall one. I carry a dingy on top, but with a camper back up it would still have to be removed from the front with a tall arch installed. Another question are the pole holders within grasp with the tall arch or do you have to stand on the gunnel to reach them? By looking at all the photos, it looks like it is a 50/50 split on tall vs. short.
Any opinions.......... Thanks

My two cents worth say go with the tall arch. The tubes of the inflatable slip under it, and just over the top of where the canvas connects. You can get rocket launchers that you can move around. I have mine about half way up the arch. I can reach them, but it's a stretch in the cd22. I suspect that because you have a self draining cockpit, it would be less of an issue for you.

Send me about 100 pounds of that yellow eye that I see cooking in your photo album. We got into some big ones when we were fishing out of Larsen Bay out on Kodiak. Tasty critters!

Regards,

Steve

I would go with the tall on my self and put all the rod holders on the side's. You can get 4 to a side. As a side note if I was having one custom made I would add a rack or two bars from one side to the other that you could lay crab/shrimp pots on. That would get then off the floor. If I had the money I would have a rack built the whole lenght of the roof that was open to the cockpit end. that way you could slide stuff up there with ease.

The arch on "Sea Shift" isn't short but it isn't tall enough either. I wish it were taller as it would accomodate a dinghy on the roof easier. The only thing you need to really consider however, is if it is too tall, you may not be able to get it in some enclosed storage shelters or under low bridges... :crook .

Thanks Guys, I'll go with the tall one. Hey Sagebrush, can't do... it's my favorite eaten fish.........hard to come by.
