On my panel there is a small switch, numbered 1,2,3, and i assume it has something to do with showing me the relative charge of the batteries? When i switch it to the various positions i see no noticeable change in the readings on the dc or ac panels. Am i making sense?

On our Ranger, the switch selects the three different battery set-ups. Number One measures the two house batteries, number two measures the thruster battery and number three measures the engine start battery. (This may not match the Factory numbering, I changed mine around)

If you have the same 4 battery system as I have, a simple check would be to try all three positions (one at a time) while you toggle the thruster. If you are monitoring the thruster battery, the voltage drops way down.

If all three positions read exactly the same, that means the wires are connected to the same battery

There have been ongoing improvements to the Ranger Tugs and a quick call to Andrew Custis would be in order . Are you all talkin about the switches in the mother in law berth ?Or on the AC and DC panels. The thruster cutoff switch is in the battery compartment.

Regarding several recent and earlier discussions about what boats to include on this site besides C-Dory:

One of the best reasons to have the Ranger Tug group around (besides making high quality friendships) is to see how well a small boat manufacturer can run a business including quality control and customer service. Their high quality performance serves as a standard against which we can rightfully judge C-Dory's comparative performance, for both the former and new owners.

Nice job, Andrew C!
