Quick Columbia River Cruises

That's the place.
They waited till after I took my ugly fishing boat home to take the picture ;).

One of my favorite pics came from this event thanks to Kay :).

You can find it in my album

See, I ain't no nerd

Hi Ray,
Next time you are going out in the Columbia and need a deck hand give me a few days notice and I may just be able to get down there and go. I would need a refresher course as I have not have gone sturgeon fishing in a long time. What size hooks and lead weights would I have to bring??

Ray,
When do you think you are going to go out next? The fish are calling I can hear them! I am having withdrawls and need a fish fix. What do you hear about CR fishing? We have Blackmouth here and not too bad fishing. Just ask Larry about how we found them. Been trying to get out here but weather and fog not co-oprating with me right now. Have GPS and all but that doesn't help when there are so many nuts out there flying around the waterways. See you soon Lyle

I talked to Jim Mast today when I paid my yearly boat launch fee for Cathlamet Harbor. Yes, he is still the Harbormaster there, great guy, has a small town friendliness about him.

Lyle & Ray. after Dec.31st you can retain Columbia River sturgeon below Bonneville. Until then it's catch & release. Looking forward to you coming down, Lyle. Kids & grandkids will be out of the spare bedroom after christmas.

Heleno
Thanks for the warning. We spent a couple of years with a sailboat moored in Cathlamet. Nice little town but it was too far from home. Good luck fishing. When the weather warms up a bit and my schedule cools off it bit, I'll have to take a run up your way.

No can do this weekend, B~C. However, I am hoping to get the old tub all ready to go into the slip sometime next week, and a trip to Larry's house and beyond the weekend of 3/20-21 really sounds good to us. I got a fishing license the other day, so I might even bring some gear.

That would be a pretty fair run for a Friday, Mike. I might point out that if you're interested in cruising beyond Larry's on 3-20ish that J. Cove would fall into the "beyond" catagory :)

I need to get another fishing license this month...drat

Anybody interested in floating over to St Helens for a fish & chips dinner friday the 12th?

Now doggonit, :cry I only have 2 fishing dates on my calendar in the near future. One is with my dad on the 12th and the other is with Harry the Clown on the 19th. (yep, he's a professional clown.) He knows all the tricks except the one that he pulls a springer out of the cooler. :teeth
What time are you thinkin of making the dash to St. Helens, Ken?

Yep, Harry is married to my wife's cousin. I've seen him pull a rabbit out of a hat, a quarter out of his ear and ping-pong balls out of his mouth...... but have yet to see him pull a fish out of a river.
Dear ol' dad is coming for a visit tomorrow. I'll know more after I talk to him then. I'd sure hate to miss a fish & chip run to St. Helens.

10-4, there'll be many more Chip runs in the future...think I may just cruise past the eat joint and on to Portland and see the sites in the big city

Yeah, 40 roger. But what about the following weekend, B~C?? Geronimo's Cove isn't until the week after that, and you got the house all remodeled, so it looks like you should have an extra free weekend in there. Larry too.

B~C -

According to my calculations, we will be leaving the dock in Warrenton around 10:00. That lets us ride the tide all the way up. Kay will probably want to stop at Cathlamet for a spell, but we should be able to make St. Helens by 4:00 pretty easy. That would be my guess, anyway.

You lucky dogs! Patty didn't even want to tow Daydream up to Birch Bay this weekend for some reason...if not for Gerbil's Cove, she wouldn't even be getting the bottom side wet this month...
