Question for the Nerds

OK, in the Private Message area, what the heck is the difference between the "Outbox" and the "Sentbox"?? I would guess that the "Outbox" is an area where messages awaiting delivery are stored or something? Why can't I just press a button so they are "sent"? If a message is in the Outbox instead of the Sentbox, does that mean it is in the recipient's Inbox but has not been read?
 
I feel your pain Pat... and have wondered the same... Must have to wait it's turn to go thru the lock...or something...
Also on this topic... Is their a way to email messages "WITH ATTACHMENTS"... other than asking the guy on the other end to send you their "real email address"... or... are the "real email addresses" in here somewhere and I have simply not found that yet??

The e-mail addresses are hidden. Spammers pick them off sites. If you click on the "e-mail" button, you can send an e-mail to the person's account. Check the box "send a copy to yourself" and you can see what it looks like but still can't see the address in the clear. Then, when that person responds via e-mail, you'll have the address in your e-mail account, which is presumably secure, and you can then send attachments up to the capacity of their system and yours!!

Cumbersome maybe but safer than having addresses "in the clear". As for the outbox vs the sent box, I think Pat's guess is right, once it's read by the recipient, it moves from out to sent...If that's the case, better nomenclature might be delivered and read....I think this is a function of the php system though, best just to live with it once we understand it. It's nice to have both PM and e-mail options!!

I'm sure the nerds will weigh in with an explanation that maybe 10% of us (me not included) will understand...

Just realized I've still got a message in my outbox from mid January

Seemed to work fine until then

Last one I tried to send really needs to go...

The PM in your Outbox will sit there until the person to whom you sent it opens the message to read. It has been sent just fine, but will stay in the Outbox until it is received. I will go check to make sure it isn't me you are waiting on!
