Puget Sound Loop Choices

Does anyone have the name of the new marina in Tacoma? I have also heard it is worth a try and want to look it up in our books.

Dock Street marina. This dock along with the sites of Tacoma are featured on this month's Sea Magazine.

Just don't take my spot......

This year I plan to cruise Puget Sound and looking for information. I read a few other newer threads, but this one seemed to have the most information, so I'm resurrecting it. I know the thread is 18 years old, so I'm sure a few things have changed. I copied down the nightly stops the OP mentioned in the very first post. I'll have to plot those out later to see where they all are.

But my main question here is, and I know one can spend 10x as long somewhere and still not see it all, but would I be able to get a pretty good idea of the Sound in a week, or would I be much better off with two weeks? And I plan to travel at hull speed. Places I know I definitely want to see include Gig Harbor and Olympia. I do have the book, A Cruising Guide to Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, Olympia to Port Angeles, second edition.

I haven't done much planning for this trip yet, as I've been busy planning out my Southeast trip for the Hontoon gathering and then some time on the Suwannee River. Colby

Poulsbo, Bremerton, Tacoma, Ballard, Lake Washington, Hood Canal are places I would want to go. Depends on the time you have available. You could easily spend the whole summer there.

Colby there are lots of choices, here are a few that you can pick and choose from. Start at Port Orchard marina, with foot ferry to Bremerton, then to Paulsbo, Kingston, Edmonds, Bell Harbor on Seattle waterfront, then Blake island, Gig Harbor, Anderson Is or Johnsons point or Boston Harbor, then Olympia, Shelton, Jarrell Cove, Allen, then 19th street or Foss waterway in Tacoma (Chahoolee glass meseum), Then Desmoins, Blake Island, and back to Port Orchard.
I would plan 2 weeks if you want to do it all or just hit the main attractions and reduce your trip time.
