Pricing on a new 2008/2009 23' Venture

Hello all,
Does anyone know what a new 23' Venture with a 115 HP Honda motor, trailer and standard options went for new and what a new old stock one would be now.
I did look at the market place reference but did not see anything new unless I did not look hard enough.

I do not believe there are any on the market at present. You might send Matt or Mark our dealers on the site a msg and get an idea. If your really looking for a sweet boat Matt at Kitsap Marina has a left over 26 Venture. I take it that 22 Angler did not work out?

Was not in the best shape, especially for being a 2009. Also, my girl saw the 23' Venture with the galley and really liked the boat. I little more roomy than the 22' cruiser so I am told. They want about $59,000 so wondering if that is a fair price. I only want to buy once and I have a feeling trying to find the right used boat at the right price is going to be hard.

I haven't checked the price of new CC23's but off the top of my head $59K doesn't sound that bad, or course it depends on the equipment, a trailer(?). and myriad other factors.

Last year I paid $43K (as I recall...) for my 2006 CC23 with a Honda 150, on a trailer. Since then I've probably put about $6-8K into it (it makes me ill to keep track of this stuff so I try not to dwell on it) for stuff like windlass, bottompaint, canvas (storage & camper), autopilot, and smaller items. ...and this is a 2006 boat.

With that in mind, $59K for a NEW boat, equipped, doesn't sound too bad.

I agree, if 59,000 for a new 2009 that sounds pretty good. Last year there was a 2008 on a dealers lot, it did not have a Wallas stove any canvas or windless and they were asking if I remember 58,000. So depending on how equipped would be good. They are 6" wider and a foot longer and of course you have a finished cabin which is insulated. The hull design is slightly different for a smoother ride. They also weigh a bit more. I personally like the 23 Venture but the budget did not.

If it has all the standard options window coverings,shorepower, battery charger inside grab rails,forward facing seat, standard butane stove, raw water wash down, fresh water pump for the sink, tilt wheel helm etc. A 115 is ok you might opt for a larger motor,since a Venture weighs another 1000 pounds than a standard 22' cruiser. A tandem trailer with brakes can be worth 2 to 4 thousand. Times a wasting you only live once. They are a great boat we love ours.

They have a price of $62,950 if I recall right but when I was there he said it was about $59,000 something.
 
If I recall correctly that boat has a Wallas stove and a windless. It was the same one I was looking at, just too rich for my blood at the time, it has a nice 2 axle Pacific trailer, which are really nice trailers.
 
Thanks for the info. I guess if it went for $59,000 it is a decent price but not great. Then again I don't know if boats are like cars. Out with the
old and alot better prices to bring in the new. I was told that C-Dory was only building as ordered.
 
Consider that at the Seattle boat show 3 years ago a 22 cruiser package was $59,000 and the 23 venture package was $69,000 if memory serves me correctly. (and that may be a big if)
 
A Fishin C is pretty close. Your memory is pretty well intact... indeed, much better then mine!

Checking the actual paperwork.... We bought our 23' Venture new at the 2008 SBS (Seattle Boat Show) at which time the "Boat Show Special Price" listed was $62,495.

Out the door the total including WA. State Sales Tax, rigging - we added a double burner Wallas, an 8-HP Yamaha kicker, 2nd battery, rebuilt swim platform and ladder (heavy duty to support SCUBA divers), grabrails on the transom, EZLDR bunk trailer guides, and a few other dive related items and license and registration came to $72,786.

Our boat is equipped w/ a Yamaha 115 HP motor and also came w/ a EZLoader Dual Axle galvanized trailer. As far as needing to have a little more OOMPH from a bigger motor; since this is the 1st boat we have ever owned I cannot really comment (nothing to really compare it to) except to say that on smooth water we have had it up to about 32 knots which is plenty fast for us.

My wife does indeed greatly enjoy the boat but has looked longingly at the larger models (25's, 26's, and Tomcats) having a head and shower especially on our longer forays (a few cruises up to 9 days). Moving up to a bigger boat would however involve a major investment since we would need to upgrade our tow vehicle also so will not happen anytime soon.

The main C-Dory accessory (not listed above) - which has been almost priceless to us - justifying the entire purchase is participation in the C-Brats and attending numerous CBGTs where we have met many wonderful people.

Perhaps Matt can provide more first-hand info, but a quick Google search shows pretty tepid reviews.

The primary complaint is that the data is far from complete, as it only contains boats sold through participating brokers/dealers. Those making the most negative noise, seem to be of the opinion the participation rate is woefully inadequate, skewing the reported results significantly.

And of course, this is certainly the case when talking about used boats - it doesn't appear to include any data on private party sales, which certainly outnumber broker/dealer sales at least on the lower end of things.
 
Yachtworld is just one of many online listing sites . I use Boattraderonline.com and Boats.com [they share a database and charge me twice as much for the "2" sites]] . I believe it dwarfs all others in views and listings . The data from there is not recorded . Strangely enough Dominion Enterprises owns all of the major sites including Yachtworld ,Boats.com and Boattrader .
