I am a new member and would like to set up a new album. How do I go about this and what size should the photos be to keep the quality high. Photography is my hobby and I would like to share the wonderful area I live in.

Hey Mike. I think you need to PM DaNag or Tyboo and make a request. They'll set it up for you. I still haven't figured out why some of my images will upload and others will not. Good luck, Mike.

Mike and Mike,

When you get your album, resize your photos to a maximum of 800 pixels wide before uploading.

If you send a larger file, the website will resize it to 800 wide, but your computer still has to upload the entire file.

Mike,
I wish I could help you. I have been trying for a couple of months to get pictures onto my album, read a ton of posts, and tried multiple times, sometimes for hours. Some say it's easy as pie, others suggested to get help from a local kid, and some have really tried to be helpful.

I finally got some help from a friend to come in and sit down and try it. She loaded the Active-X program and now we are able to do it through the applet way. I'm not a computer person so I don't even know how to explain what I'm doing, but roughly I have the "My Pictures" open, and the C-Dory photo album, both open in the tray at the bottom of the screen.

I find the number (file name) of the picture I want and make a note of the image number. Then I go to my C-dory album, click on "album action" and then Add pictures.

There will be a screen that opens and have four selections across the top re: different ways to add a photo. As noted above, I use "Applet". This will bring up a screen that has "add Photo" and I click this twice.

The 'find file' screen opens and I select the image numbers that I made note of earlier. Then 'save' and it puts these file images in the 'applet' screen. Make sure the 'resize' box is checked and then upload.

Close this small window and go back to your C-Dory album. On Window's Explorer, go to "View" (across the top), and click on refresh. This will refresh the windows screen and the pictures you uploaded will appear.

Presto - you can now create creative captions, add sub-albums, or pull your hair out and start all over again! :wink

Here it is 2008 and after several months of trying to get photos into a C-Brat album without success a friend discovered that we were missing the applet program. At least that was one way to make it work. So now, there are pictures, and sub-albums. Photo's of lots of C-Dorys and some interesting sites along the way. Thanks to Tyboo and DaNag for making this site possible, and to all those who have patiently tried to offer help.

Thanks Marty, I am gradually getting back to wanting to do a bit of photography occasionally. Now I need some pix of our boat on the run. I really like the one in your signature block. :thup :thup

Question??
Are the sub-album titles supposed to show up as album titles in the "Recent Photo/Album Activity" box, on the Home page, lower left corner? Mine are, maybe I am setting up the sub-albums wrong.
Thanks for the help :thup :thup
