posting a photo beneath your signature

You simply edit your profile and in the signature field insert the code for an image

For example, putting the code below (2 lines down) into your signature field will display the image at the location
Code:
http://www.c-brats.com/albums/album1043/pissed_sealion_jpg.jpg

Code:
[ATTACH=full]107427[/ATTACH]

That said, I find images in signatures somewhat annoying since they take up a lot of space, reappear every time one posts and don't really add much to the discussion. But to each his own.

Not quite - signatures, whether they contain images or not, only appear on a user's first post per page.

Yea - I know but every time they post in a new thread, I get to see the same image again - that can be a little tiring. Which (I think) is why some brilliant guy changed the board's code so it only display's once on the first post per thread/page.

Um, isn't that kinda the idea of a "signature" image? I challenge you, Roger, to come up with an image that tells us something about you in your signature! And none of those little smiley faces and i's dotted with hearts like you do when you send private messages.

Forrest Gump: [running] I had run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours.
[he stops and turns around]
Young Man Running: Quiet, quiet! He's gonna say something!
Forrest Gump: [pause] I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now.

Roger- Could be you're just tired.

What is the procedure for posting a picture to go beneath the "signature" on your profile?

Gerry and Cindy: God forbid you should have a large picture attached to your signature :cry , so here are more instructions to make sure you attach the "small" pic:

Upload a picture to your photo album. Right click on the small photo preview in the album, not the enlarged version. Click on "properties". Copy the "properties" address that ends in ".jpg". Then put that address in as Roger has indicated in his instructions above.

The instructions have been clear, so I don't have anything to add there. I do not really care one way or another if the sigs have pics, so no point in commenting there. But I do have one question on the subject.

Bill, why do you have two blobs of bird poop in your sig?

Gotta love the variety of opinions and the readiness to share info that is found here!

I think we will post a wee photo of the "C-Gnome" after she's been completely outfitted for the local waters (radar, gps chartplotter, etc.). We personally think that the little pics add color and character to the site's forums. We also love the photo albums. We've been pouring over them for 5 years!

Thanks to everyone!

Good job - nice (little) image. I like it. Sorry if I offended anyone with my original reply. I don't mind the little images in signatures but the big one's can be annoying to scroll past.
