Any other C-Brats going to make the Maine Boat Builders show? Some of us (at least 3 now) are getting together Saturday night up there.

My husband and I will definitely be there, but will have a houseguest so not able to get together Saturday night. Do you all want to try to meet somewhere in the building?

Hi Pat & Roscoe,

Yup, I can be there next Saturday afternoon. I intended to go to the show. Where will ya be and when? Sorry, I don't have any C-dory/Brat logo wear to make me visible, and a red and black plaid shirt sure won't stand out in that crowd!

Myself, a couple of other boating friends, another C-Brat are going to get together at the Rosborough display around 12 noon-ish on Saturday.

We have hotel reservations at the Days Inn, 461 Main Mall Road, South Portland, ME 04106 This is not a hotel recommendation, but rather one that I know some folks who are also staying there. This is my first trip to Portland. Prices are good. Their phone is 207-772-3450.

I have heard nothing from the C-Dory factory on passes after this and other post a while back, but feel sure I have another source for passes.

Right now, just a friendly meet-n-greet at the show, a dinner somewhere after the show closes, and more than likely, like in Seattle, a bit of post show fun at the hotel.

I fly up on Thursday.

I have also made reservations at the Days Inn, at $59.99 it beats sleeping in the car. I'm looking forward to meeting all and will try to meet up at noon. Nice pubs downtown too. Hummm, beer, boats, Maine lobster....can't wait!

I was there today, only late. I got caught in a 45 minute delay on the Maine Turnpike, so I didn't get to the Rosborough until 1230. And, I asked people loitering in the vicinity if there were any C-Dory people around and got blank stares! Came back a half dozen times but no C-Brats!

So, then I went to get estimates for putting a camper canvas back on Hunky Dory. Second rigger I went to said that I just missed a lady who got an estimate for a C-Dory!

Sorry I missed you guys.

Whoever was looking at getting canvas work, I found that Seth from Mobile Canvas was much more proactive in thinking thru potential problems and solutions. He's going to check out a C-Dory on Southport Is and get an estimate to me. E-mail me if you're interested in his quote. His ball park estimate was 20% less than Fortune.

Rick from Maine

I was there at noon, and hughpenk was there too. I did hear about the traffic delay on the highway. Checked back several times over the next 30-45 minutes or so, but didn't find anyone else. Of course it's hard to tell by looking who's a C-Brat and who isn't! Mr. Rosborough knew we were around, and he was also waiting for Byrdman. Best guess was Byrdman overslept  .

I was the lady checking out canvas, and I'll definitely be emailing you. I found a guy from Freeport who sounded promising also, but I agree the Fortune rep wasn't very proactive and hadn't ever heard of C-Dories.

I thought the show was terrific, and I'll be going again tomorrow.

OK...sorry for all those with watches on their wrist and I have to step up to the plate and admit...I WAS NOT AT THE ROSBOROUGH BOAT AT NOON. Nope, I was not even close. In fact, I was still about 15 miles up the road in Freeport.... Yes, my self and C-Pearl (Brigner) did sleep in a bit. After all the excitement and seeing everything on Friday, dinner Friday night....we got to thinking and re-drawing boats....and at about 4am we crashed....or...ran aground. We did make it to the Rosborough display around 1pm-ish. ..... Talked a bit with a few folks, Ron from CA...who cruises with Joel, Roger, Chris and some of the other CA Brats during the Catalina Gatherings. About 15-20 of us made dinner Saturday night and had a blast. Bob Rosborough did join us and it was great to be able to have the actual hull builder and designer with you to pull out all the information we could....and...like all Brats....the owners all poured the "what we have done on our boats" out..... It was great and was pretty much like the opportunity we had in Seattle this year with Ben Toland at the show and around the hotel. It is just awesome to actually be around the builders and designers. The warehouse up here in Maine has been full of them this last weekend. I would HIGHLY....HIGHLY...recommend this boat show to all who love our cabin/pilot house boats....and like mixing it up with the builders. Not a clorox boat in the place!!!! Now...be careful....this was the Maine Boatbuilders Show..... not the other one up here in another location with all the clorox boats.

Also saw and met Mr. Farmer, who works with Bruce Perkins, who works with Jeff Messmer, ...and Farmer is the builder of the Seaway boat. Have pics of the projected 25.... have some neat idea pictures off their 24 for some adaptions I was going to make on some of my boats....

See Yall soon on the waters and will post a pic or two once home and back on the DSL server line.

Byrdman....& C-Pearl....

Maine....for a few more hours.

Back safe at home now. Tired. Great time. Great to see those of you I did see, look forward to seeing some I missed.....during our C-Brat gathering 6-8Jun08 in the Chesapeake Bay area....

What a show. I am thinking this will be an annual trip for sure. Just too many non-clorox boats in one place and no starched white shirts!! Blue jeans is the word!!
