Holy jumpin' up and down doggies!! My wife's a nerd!!

Dang - I will sheepishly admit I've been out-nerded. By a girl, no less. I had no idea Kay's little trick was possible...

I think I see how it was done - add to the photo album, then use the image tag to point at it?

Regardless, Kay - you opened the door. You tell everyone how you did it. And congrats - you've been officially indoctrinated into the pocket-protector clan.

Here's my little happy dance!
I tried it from both the old and new c-brat sites and can't get them to load. I think it has to do with being in it's own photo album. The dog pic and this dancing flower are from two private albums.

To do it, just click 'img' tag then paste picture/gif address from web and 'img' tag again making sure there are no spaces.

Bungowa - Mike's got it figured out!

After I saw Kay's discovery, I re-did my for sale ad using the same method you discovered (linking to a photo album picture.) Works great...

Somebody (hint hint) should write up a mini-tutorial, eh?

Yeah, sure, but who has time?

It looks like you have to bring up the pic, right click to get Properties, and copy the URL from the Property box. Otherwise, you get the whole album page, Kay says.

Hey Bill - Since you and Kay will be busy talking nerd stuff at the SBSCBC, can I have your beer?

Yep, now it's the C-Brats Pub for sure! This thread (is that what you call them here?) is totally trashed!

Since we are already so far gone, let me ask this. Can you tweak something to make message attachments go away after, say, 90 or 120 days? By then they will be buried, and junking them will help with the server space.

Bah - you underestimate the nerd.

For those of you who missed this little sleight of hand, a "serious" topic started to diverge from it's original meaning (the Cornet Bay thread). One of the forum moderators (me) just split off the posts where they started to diverge, and moved them to the General Chat section where it's more of a free-for-all...

Oh, and to answer your other question Mike - no need to worry about space if the picture was linked from the photo album. No additional server space is taken up, just because the picture appears in a post. We can auto-prune things around here (delete things after certain amounts of time or inactivity), but we've got plenty of space. I'll suggest we wait until it becomes an issue.

I deleted it, Mike. I followed the link on the bear thread and was nearly made sick by the photo. Thought there should be a warning.

Larry - it was just a joke. A sick joke, but a joke. I wasn't trying to shame you into deleting it. This is the CB's, ya know! But, it is the new CB's, and because it is I was able to return to my sickening joke post and delete the sickening part. I'm just sick about it.

What? Heck no I aint mad, never was. See that happy face at the end of my last post.

This does bring up an interesting point though. The Emoticons can help us vocabulary and writing challenged folks express the state of mind we're in while posting. It's easy to read a lot of things into a post that wasn't meant by the author. Do you think we can get more emoticons available to us?
