Persian Gulf

Who, in their right mind, would head for ANY warship in the Persian Gulf at a high speed. The folks in that boat weren't in their right mind, or they had something else on their mind. Suicide, maybe? An unfortunate incident, for which the USN will probably be blamed.

Thats how the cole got hit. Small local boat that would not move away. We will never know if they had ill intent or were just stupid. There is no way they did not know to stay clear. The warnings are clear and repeated over and over.

The USS COLE was one of "my" ships, as were the STARK and the ROBERTS. The "warnings" in this case first came via radio, then on a loudspeaker, then with a .50cal. Enough!

3 outboard motors on a 50 foot "skiff"....suspicious enough.

Sometimes it takes an "incident" to get the message thru, IF these were innocents. However, no-one in their right mind would approach any naval ship (any nationality) in that area at high speed.
