Pay it forward (Or C-Bratiness at its best)

Ron on Meander

You never know how your participation in the C-Brats will end up rewarding you. Last year I met George and Carolyn from Kerri On at Beach Gardens resort in Powell River. We chatted and during our conversation George mentioned that he and Carolyn had to go back to Nanaimo for a week and he would be leaving the C-dory in the marina. I said heck Meander is in the marina and the trailer is free why don't we load Kerri On on my trailer and park it in my yard and save you a weeks marina fees. George says sure. Fast forward 50 some weeks and George and Carolyn are back in Powell River and call us up to get together for a visit. Well to keep the story somewhat short George and Carolyn come over for dinner and see Meander up on blocks with me part way through sanding the bottom prior to epoxy coating and bottom paint. George volunteered to help! He spent 3 nights at about 3-4 hours each helping put three coats of Interprotect 2000e on. I'm happy to report that because of Georges help I have finally managed to complete the bottom painting project. 3 months behind schedule and over budget, but hey, I've saved on gas in the last 3 months.

Thanks George and Carolyn you are examples of C-Brats at their best.

And to everyone else on this site that are so helpful to others without a thought to getting anything in return for the help you so freely give. THANK YOU!!!!

It would be great to hear of other stories of unexpected C-Brats help as well.

Any Brats heading up to Desolation Sound, Princess Louisa don't hesitate to let me know I can be of any assistance.

Cheers
Ron

Great idea Ron! You get more than just a boat when you get a C Dory! Friends all over. Carolyn and I have been befriended by so many c brats it is getting hard to keep track. Casey (dessert first) with RV1 storage and tour guide in Arizona, Steve (sea spray) tour of the marsh near Rio Vista and local knowledge, Chris (rana verde) took our trailer to his house and returned it when we visited San Diego! El and Bill for inspiration. Ron and Anne ( meander) great meals and storage and company. Roger and Janet (dreamer) much hospitality and company, Barry and Patty ( c cakes) putting on cbgt's and fun times Jay and JoLee (hunky dory) for great stories Joe and Ruth (R Matey) for laughs. Jim and Joan (wild blue) for music and fun Dr Bob for so much great know how. . So many friends from gatherings and drop in visits. If we ever need help anywhere in North America, our first shout out is to this site. Before I call my mom even! Thanks all. And glad to hear you got the rest of the paint on Ron, warm weather to do it. George and Carolyn

Ive had the pleasure of sitting at the dinner table with Marc Grove and his wife Anita, having a home cooked meal of Red Snapper. I consider Marc and Anita friends----not just the dealer who I bought my boat from.

Marc, Anita, and the Wefings crew Rock!!!!!
