What is the name of the part of the Honda BF90 engine which the steering rod connects to push and pull and turn the engine? Mine is so rusty i don't think it is safe anymore and I'd like to try and replace it.

Thanks in advance

John

Not exactly certain which part you mean, but you might find it in one of these two pages from a 2004 Honda Rigging Guide.

If I recall correctly(50/50 crap shoot) the piece your describing is a cast steel bracket, bolted to cast steel engine swivel bracket.
To remove the two bolts & replace it might cause more broken bolt, drilling & tapping, cussing, throwing stuff & headache than it's worth it. It's a pretty substantial cast piece, I would scrape, file, sand etc. & see how much metal is there & paint as nec.
Or the 2 bolts will come off just fine & you put on a new one in 10 minutes & away ya go. :thup

Lets try a pict http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _photo.php

It looks like my memory was the wrong 50% but close, with luck & the studs instead of bolts you might get by with the bracket.

The arm is $46 at boats.net and if you figure in the cost of the rust spray and the top coat you're money ahead by ordering a new one and replacing it. You have to pull it off anyway.
