Well Susan and I are on vactaion for two whole weeks. we are leaving today if we every get in gear. We are planning to be in victoria tonight depending on the weather and there until monday. after that is any where from sooke to nanimo. only place I know we will be is fishermans bay on lopaz for the fireworks on the 4th. If your out on the water give us a call or flag us down.

Still up in the air, but SleepyC crew are looking toward the north for a trip into the SJ Islands or over toward Sidney for the 4th. We will be keeping watch out for other brats and listening on 16/68. Hope to see you and Susan out there and Peter and Caryn and more, too.

Toni and I are not on vacation in North Carolina, with her family. We just returned to Concord from a week on the beach in Rodanthe, Outer Banks. We surf fished several afternoons with not much success, seen alot of lighthouses, temperatures in the nineties and humid.
Again, have a great time and good luck fishing.

Curious what route you did to Victoria? How was the trip? Are you going to be in Sidney? Fish on Fifth for the greatest fish and chips. happy Father's Day 8)

Susan and I are just checking in. We are tied to the wharf street dock in victoria. We ran over yesterday and meet Warren and his daughter in the tom cat. After breakfast susan and I walked around and enjoyed the warm if not wind weather. Then we did a total tourist thing and rented a scooter for two hours. What a great time. Really fun zipping around town. I do have to say that with both of us on one bike I had to give her the spears to get up a few hills. We just got back from the Imax and was a little disappointed in it. not very only or very good. Tomorrow or the next day we are headed towards Sooke. Does anyone know where we should stay over there. We completely forgot our guide book stack. Still next to the door.

Sooke Harbor House is fantastic, but very pricey. If it's a special occasion, go for it! There are lots of B&Bs in Sooke also. Enjoy...
 
Tom, Sorry, I haven't been there since 1957, and didn't stay there then, and I was very young, (about -10 :wink ) so I don't remember anything particular.

Still curious about the route and the sea conditions.

Well, OK then! Unlike Russ and Toni, who will never be on vacation again, you two working stiffs get to be on vacation!

It just so happens that my family and I will be at the Lopez Islander marina from the 2nd through the 7th of July. If anyone is in the area, feel free to drop buy if you see "Pingu" docked. We'd love the company.
