Oil bath wheel bearing service

Serviced our boat trailers sealed oil bath wheel bearings this weekend, decided to pull out the camera and document it for posterity. This is a 2007 EZ Loader duel axel trailer. It has been pulled over the Alaska highway 3 times and dipped in the salt water most every weekend from May through September for the last 3 years. The Wheels had a tad bit of endplay so decided to do a full service. The weather was lousy this weekend so seemed like a good time.

It took me most of the day but I was not in a hurry. Hope someone will benefit from the documentation because I was not able to find much information anywhere. Fortunately the EZ Loader dealer in Anchorage was quite helpful. Total cost was about $15 for seals, one wheel stud with lug nut, and 4 cotter pins.

:thup Great job with the photos and comments Jay, I printed them and will put your service guide away until I am ready to service my trailer wheels.

I have the same model and year trailer so the pictures really help. I especially liked the tip about filling the cap with oil. Will remember that when I do mine. Thanks
