Not fancy but so fun!

Val and I just came across the Georgia Strait from Blaine Wa. to Mayne Island.
The water was so calm and the old classic angler ran like a sewing machine!
I have never had a 2 stroke run as good as this original 70 hp Johnson! I was going to upgrade soon but this old motor just keeps purring! (I have a 2007 4 stroke yamaha kicker just in case!) Its so old and yet we had so much fun together crossing. We ran into a pod of dolphins swimming all around us!

Its thanksgiving here in Canada and I want to wish everyone well !
I am so thankful I was able to buy a C-Dory this spring and I am so proud to be part of a community that truly cares about us who are just starting.
God bless you all.

C-Val, Glad you had a great time and glad it is purring. Flat water, purring and dolphins. Hard to beat. I have been checking weather and it has seemed pretty benign. Good time to be out.

Enjoy and be safe,

Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello C-Val,
Happy Thanksgiving Day to you too. Glad to hear you are having a good time using your 22Angler. I have one too and take it out to the Douglas Channel almost every year. Have some friends in White Rock and may come out that way next spring. If we have time may look you up, talk C- Dory and see your boat. If you are ever near Edmonton drop in and we can do the same here.
Cheers!

Thank you for the kind greeting!

As it turns out my son is in the military base in Edmonton. I might just take you up on your offer if we come your way to visit him!

In the meantime I love to talk C-Dory talk. I just got the boat in March so I am on a learning curve - especially since mine is an "oldie goldie".

The Georgia Strait looks very calm right now with light winds so I will soon be heading back to Blaine Wa. where I store it. Think I will fire up the old Johnson and just putt for awhile in the sun

My new C-Dory goal is to try to put a few pics in my album since I haven't done that yet

Please keep in touch and contact me and Val if you come our way. In the meantime Happy Thanksgiving and keep let's keep C-Dory talk going!

I had the same faith in my last 90 hp evinrude ,it ran like a clock once warmed up, and I had it over a decade with the only prob a clogged carb jet that was quickly resolved. I am now a high tech 4 stroke owner and hope for the same kind of luck. I get better gas mileage now,but I never worried about that old motor. :love

"Grandpa Johnson" 1982 still doing 14-15 knots at 4700 rpm across Georgia Strait last weekend.
What did they used to make these things out of anyway?

Beside my newer 8 hp high thrust kicker, I still have an 1980 " baby Johnson" 4 hp that I put on the C-Dory last weekend just for fun. It pushed the boat at 3 knots in calm water and ran perfectly.

Just wondering if anyone else is still running their original power from the 80's?

Pat Anderson bought an '80 something 16 footer a few years ago. It came with an old Johnson 40 and he had every intention to repower. It ran so well, however (and still does) that it's still there.

I'm with you there, I am constantly thinking about how fortunate we are to have one as well. :thup
