Notice to Stakeholders

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) wants you to know that it is proposing amendments to Regulations under the Customs Act governing Trusted Traveller Programs (TTP). Its intention is to clarify several provisions in the Regulations related to eligibility criteria, appeals, membership conditions, permitted and prohibited actions, and the circumstances leading to the suspension or cancellation of membership. Further changes will clarify language surrounding advance notification and the alternative manner of presentation in the land mode. New technologies and pilot projects such as the Pilot Project for Travellers in Remote Areas – Quebec will also lead to changes in the Regulations.

The Notice to Stakeholders,
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agenc ... u-eng.html
provides detailed information on the changes, as well as the rationale behind them.

As a valued stakeholder, you have the right to provide your feedback on these changes to: CBSA, Trusted Traveller Programs Unit, 191 Laurier Ave. West, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0L8, no later than 11:59pm (EST), January 9, 2015.
