New Venture 26 Owners

Thought we would formally say hi. I've been lurking and chatting on and off of this forum for several years now. We finally found the right boat at the right price for us. It can certainly take a very long as we had several botched attempts

All is all, we are very excited. The boat is currently in Seattle in a mooring on Lake Washington. As soon as its new EZ Loader trailer is in our posession, it will be coming down to Oregon to make its home on the Columbia for now. This will give me a chance to fully assess all of its systems and familiarize myself with it over the next several months while cruising in familiar waters.

Ideally we will cruise her through the San Juan's and Gulf Island next summer with the long term goal of getting her down to Florida for the crossing over to Bimini and the Bahamas.

In a perfect world, we would have gone with a TC255, but we simply couln't see ourselves expending so much capital at this point in our lives, so this is the next best thing for us.

Pics have been uploaded into albums and I know I'll be asking a million questions throughout the coming weeks. Thanks again for being such an active and informative group. We wouldn't have bought one of these boats without this resource!

Congratulations Haakebecks!!! I've been admiring that boat every time I passed the Leschi Marina on the way home from work. Nice boat! I'm sure you're looking forward to a great summer on your "new" (to you) boat.

Thanks Peter... that is the boat and we are quite excited. It has definitely been a process getting to this point, but I think she will be a good fit.

There are a few outstanding issues to clear up, which it appears there always are with these boats, but we think we can get it all figured out and make a go of it.

We're very excited!

Congratulations! You now own the finest pocket cruiser ever made.

I noticed some of the great custom shelving you have above the starboard window and behind the sink/wallas. How did you go about mounting that to the cabin?

Also, was that outside steering station a factory option? That is slick!
