New screen name.

Greetings,

Since I have sold my CD 22 and retired the boat name 'Nancy H' , I have 'retired' my screen name as well.

My new screen name is 'Larry H' as shown on the left.

I don't know if he still qualifies as a C-Brat---- maybe just a Brat?

Anyone that would sell a C-Dory and still attend the C-Dory party- dunno,
but I did witness him asking Jeff to make a 14'er for a dingy for his Trawler.

One of the challenges of a site like this is the names you have to remember. You've got your boat name, your name name, and your user name. Then you need to try to remember the spouses name, and any kids and or pets names.

Roger,

As we get old and slow some things change!! My old bod just couldn't take the vibration and pounding of my 22 anymore.

I owned and operated her since 1991 and put many thousands of miles under the keel (and over the road). I was sorry to see her go, but I can still go boating on my trawler.

You know, once a Brat, always a Brat. As other C-Brats get along in years I think the logic of a smooth riding trawler will appeal to them.

This could be the start of a new kind of Brat, "Trawler Brats"
The motto: "Old and Slow, but we get there!"

Waive as you fly by or raft up for a cuppa coffee!

We hope to see lots of C-Brats on the Inside Passage next summer on our way to Alaska and back.

Hey Larry, I'm curious... If you slowed down your 22 to trawler speed, do you think it would still pound and vibrate?

Larry,

I tried that and found that the waves kicked the 22 around and that was just as uncomfortable for me as going faster.

A 35 mile trip at 7 knots takes 5 hours. The CD would do it in 2 hours. We have the time now to go slow and Nancy can live on the trawler like in an apartment. It's possible to walk around, go outside, fix lunch, and even drink coffee from a cup!

One drawback to the trawler is the $500/month slip rent! That's $300/month more than Twin Bridges dry storage.

I see your boat is for sale. What's next for you? A new boat?

Hey Larry.....To follow through with what Roger said.... I also heard Jeff at the factory say Yes he would build you a 14' ...... Jeff trully is one of the nice guys at the factory.

Larry S of Helen O wants to downsize....25 to 22...cut out 3', give to Oldgrowth for 2' (will green work for you?) portion addition to 16' making 18'....who wants the other foot? I don't...we have enough boat already! :smile Oldgrowth has to do all the work, though, right? Larry H of ex-Nancy-H purchases 14' C-Dory as dinghy for new trawler from factory and everyone lives happily ever after :wink

I know someone's got photoshop and can make this all appear here!

now that's using yer head, no problems are to complicated to be solved here. Another thought, I'm sure somebody else would want a 14' boat, the C-Brat formerly known as Nancy H could buy the 28 footer and....well...never mind

The factory may be missing a good thing here.

The could build a 'kit boat', with different length front and rear sections so the customer could get the length they want.

Start with a 16, later replace the stern and go to 18 or 20.

Or start with an Angler front and later substitute a Cruiser front section.

or build a boat along the lines of the dinner table, got company coming? just pull it apart and add a few sections, company leaves, just remove some sections.....damn we smart

That is a good idea. I wish I was not so far along with my boat, otherwise I would have to try it. Ken, if you want to bring your boat to Olympia, we could do it to yours. I like cutting boats in half.
