New proposed fishing designation changes

Cat the other white meat. I just dont get peta. If you dont like meat or think that eating meat is murder then dont do it. But for crying out loud leave the rest of us alone. I Dont go a round Forcing people to eat meat, why is peta forcing me to eat grass?? Its called FREEDOM OF CHOICE for a reason.

P.s. Dave got me on that one.
and no I have never knowingly eaten cat, just dog.
 
For people who oppose cruelty to animals, the abuse of fish by the fishing industry (as well as by sport and recreational fishers) should be a key concern. More than 17 billion fish are killed for food in the U.S. alone each year, and sport fishing and angling kills another 245 million animals annually. Without any legal protection from cruel treatment, fish are impaled, crushed, suffocated, or sliced open and gutted, all while they're fully conscious.

the above qoute is from peta web site. I have been saying it for years. They are never going to stop until they outlaw everything. "all while they are fully conscious" Well they fight better that way. maybe I should send them my duck pictures??
 
I’ll bet those Sea Kittens are mighty tasty; if not perhaps they’d make good shrimp bait smashed up in little bits and crammed into a bait jar.

Does anyone besides myself find this web site really weird. Did you try the part were you can dress up your fish. Politics besides, this is one weird site.
 
As far as I can gather this site is very real. I did hear on the news about their proposed name change, that prompted me to look it up. It's like they are asking folks to make fun of them.
 
If there asking people to make fun of them I think they will get their wish. Why don't we all join PETA and when we have a majority vote to disban?
 
OK, you're puzzled. Now California has passed a state Constitution measure which requires that each caged chicken has enough room to extend its wings. For you guys in Arizona, make way, all the chicken farmers are going your way. And now the local environmentalists are referring to "smelly cows." So we'll move the cattle business to Mexico (New or Old?)

What we're discussing here is a new mind set. People are so far removed from the food chain, and have so little real stuff to do that they've lost sight of what it takes to get food on the table. And it's not just PETA, that Constitutional measure took a majority of the voters.

And we're importing fish from China. Hold on to your hats, we're moving our agriculture overseas. We've already moved our manufacturing there. And, by the way, I voted Democrat, as usual.

I considered tossing this out on the Alaska Outdoor Fishing forum, but this could resolute in rumblings far in excess of our current imminent Mt. Redoubt volcano eruption.
 
I saw this on one of the WA fishing sites a couple of weeks ago. My response then - I guess I'll be whacking a lot of sea kittens this year.

While I think they're a bit misguided on the Sea Kitten approach, I do love their "banned" superbowl ad. I won't provide the link here because this is a family site.
But I bet 95% of all the guys who read this will go look.
 
Susans room mate in Davis was a state employee. Her job was to review farming practices. I asked her why they needed to be review when I first meet her. Her answer took me by surprise and open my eyes to who "they" are and what "they" want. She point blank told me that her job was to figure out new ways to put farmers out of business. I asked why, "so we can give the land back to the earth". It would be funny but THEY are really serious.
